A Walk For The Fallen

Posted

A man with a mission, can be used to describe Tim French. French is a Navy Veteran who served active duty from1980 until 1984 and was in the non-active reserves from 1984 to 1986. French calls Crossville home but has been seen across the Upper Cumberland memorializing fallen heroes.

In 2019 French started walking for health reasons and was prompted by his daughter to start carrying a flag on his walks, so he did. After he started carrying the flag, he thought he should start walking for a cause. Again, he did just that, he started dedicating his walks to fallen heroes.

I Walk 4 Them, is the name of his memorial walks, and walk for them he does. Since starting the journey of remembering and honoring the fallen French has walked over 6,300 miles and dedicated those miles to 850 heroes.

Many may ask why, why does French walk with the flag to honor these fallen heroes, and on his website https://www.iwalk4them.com/ French answers that question. “It’s simple, it is a great way to teach people what the cost of Freedom is, and how to show the families of fallen warriors that their family’s sacrifices aren’t forgotten. French says walking with the flag and dedicating walks to honor the fallen soldiers has provided him with a mission to ensure the memories of these people will always be remembered and talked about. In short, he is keeping the memories of these heroes alive.
