Overton County Prays For Tennessee

Posted

Organizers of a statewide, month-long event that invites communities in every Tennessee county to pray for their communities and the state, made a stop in Overton County on Thursday.

A large crowd from young to old gathered to worship and pray on the courthouse lawn in downtown Livingston. There were seven pastors who offered prayers of repentance.

These are a few takeaways from the prayers of repentance:

  • The rocks don’t have to cry out because we are going to.
  • Strongholds would be abolished.
  • Denominational walls broke down and we would become The Church
  • The Church to rise up
  • Malachi 1 - Lord we are going to stop bringing our leftovers to You and instead we are going to bring our best.
  • Clear confusion in our nation - just because sin is legal doesn’t mean it is right
  • I know you God but I don’t need you now. Let us change our thoughts and know we need God always.

Pray4TN is a statewide event with plans to make stops in every county in Tennessee throughout this month.

House Joint Resolution 0803 was passed by the 113th Tennessee General Assembly earlier this year and signed into law by Gov. Bill Lee in April. HJR 803 designates “the period of July 1, 2024, through July 31, 2024, as a time of prayer and fasting in Tennessee and seeks God’s hand of mercy healing on Tennessee.”

The legislation was sponsored by State Rep. Monty Fritts.
