Carolyn Faye Dees

Carolyn Faye Dees, 76, of Byrdstown, passed away March 1 at her residence. Funeral services were held March 6 from the Chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Livingston with Bro. Craig Waters officiating. Interment followed in the Overton Co. Memorial Gardens.

She was born Nov. 2, 1945 in Carthage. She prepared taxes for people for many years and enjoyed meeting people and talking to them.

She was preceded in death by: parents, John Lee and Geraldine (Law) Gillihan; husband, Henry Alan Dees; daughter, Carol Miller; grandson, Martin Shelley; and sister, Beverly Diane Odom.

Surviving relatives include: daughter, Theresa Shelley and husband, Marty; granddaughter, Brandie buck; great grandchildren, Emma Buck, Emmett Buck and Ella Buck; sister, Regina White; niece, Sherry Yiestley; nephew, John Young; and a host of other family and friends.

Charles “Charlie” Edward Vaughn

Charles “Charlie” Edward Vaughn, 53, of Livingston, passed away Feb. 28 at St. Thomas West. Services will be conducted at a later date.

He was born March 24, 1968 in Clay County. He loved the Lord, being with loved ones, helping others, laughing, farming, logging, mechanical work, trading on anything, especially tools, coins, vehicles and mason jars.

He was preceded in death by: parents, Bill and Sue Key Vaughn; sister in law, Melinda Vaughn; and special friends, Hank Butler and Bob Hughes.

Surviving relatives include: son, Austin Burke of Livingston; loyal friend, Rachel Deck; loving dog, Axle Chain of Livingston; brothers, Danny Vaughn and wife, Sandy of Allons and David Vaughn of Allons; nephews, Brandon and Levi Vaughn, nieces, Brandy, Brook, Nikita and Angel; a host of friends and family; and very special friends, Jim and Marsha Deck and Vaeh Rayne.

James C. Dishman

James C. Dishman, 76, of Livingston, passed away March 2 from the Overton County Health and Rehab Center. Funeral services were held March 4 from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Gore officiating. Interment followed in the Liberty Cemetery.

He was born Jan. 30, 1946 in Overton County. He loved talking to people, going to yard sales and spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed going fishing and riding his four wheeler.

He was preceded in death by: parents, Oscar and Carrie Hammock Dishman; brothers, Oscar Harold Dishman and Johnny Dishman; and nephew, Johnny William Dishman.

Surviving relatives include: brothers, Jessie “Shorty” Dishman and wife, Tina of Livingston and Billy Joe Dishman and wife, Deltina of Hilham; sister, Irene Staggs of Livingston; sister in law, Alice Dishman of Livingston; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Bobby and Faye Cooper of Livingston.

Pallbearers were Hunter Porter, Junior Matthews, Tommy Phillips, Norm Osborn, Manuel “Manny” Sanchez, Anthony Sells and Anthony Tyson.

Lucille Ferrill

Lucille Ferrill, 91, of Livingston, passed away March 5 from Livingston Regional Hospital. Graveside services were held March 8 from the Overton County Memorial Gardens with Bro. Ed Shaver officiating.

She was born Nov. 19, 1930 in Overton County. She loved going to church, singing and crocheting. She always kept a garden and enjoyed traveling.

She was preceded in death by: parents, Mitchell and Ada T. Hancock Shaver; husband, Carlos Ferrill; son in law, Dale Smith; son, Michael Ferrill; great grand son, Skyler Smith; brothers, Horace Shaver and Orley Shaver; and sisters, Bertha Gragg, Violet Qualls and Cleo Sutherland.

Surviving relatives include: daughter, Verrica Smith of Livingston; grandchildren, Greg Smith of Livingston, Angela Moceri and husband, Jimmy of Cookeville and Steven Smith of Livingston; and great grandchildren, Sydney Smith, Stormi Lynn Smith, Kaia Vaughn, Daylan Smith, Brayden Smith, Kaitlyn Smith and Austin Smith.

Pallbearers were Greg Smith, Steven Smith, Jimmy Moceri, Austin Smith and Sean Rowell.

Dallas Sullivan

Dallas Sullivan, 81, of Rickman, passed away March 6 from his residence. Funeral services were held March 8 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Loftis officiating. Interment followed in the Netherland Cemetery.

He was born April 4, 1940 in Overton County. He always enjoyed being a member of the Veterans Honor Guard, traveling and driving his truck. He enjoyed talking to people and he never met a stranger.

He was preceded in death by: parents, Lucien and Zelma Burgess Sullivan; and brother, Jimmy Sullivan.

Surviving relatives include: wife, Thelma Sullivan of Rickman; sons, Dallas Lucian Sullivan and wife, Irene of Sparta, Dale Sullivan and wife, Angela of Livingston and Dan Sullivan and wife, Jennifer of Rickman; daughter, Vickie Wilson of Cookeville; grandchildren, Miranda Cotterman and husband, Joey, Matthew Sullivan, Cameron Wilson and wife, Tara, Luke Sullivan, Isaac Sullivan, Emma Grace Sullivan and Ella Sullivan; great grandchildren, Caleb Carden, Zach Cotterman, Aydan Wilson, Bray Wilson, Camdyn Wilson and Ben Wilson; brothers, Larry Sullivan and wife, Jean of Rickman and Jerry Sullivan of Rickman; sisters, Carol Ann Hargis and husband, Bill of Rickman, Colene Garrett and husband, Jerry of Livingston, Connie Crabtree and husband, Buddy of Rickman, Rita Melton of Crossville and Robin Fernandez and husband, Lee of Crossville; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Michael “Mike” Glenn Parsons

Michael “Mike” Glenn Parson, 66, of Alpine, passed away March 5 at the Signature Health Care of Monteagle. A visitation was held March 7 at the Hall Funeral Home of Livingston. The family has chosen cremation.

He was born Sept. 14, 1955 in Monroe. He was a volunteer fire fighter, licensed plumber/electrician and a diver. He was also a member of the West Fork Lodge Masons.

He was preceded in death by: parents, Glenn “Doc” Parsons and Betty Jo (Denton) Parsons McDonald; sister, Debbie Boles; and great niece, Bella Ogletree.

Surviving relatives include: daughter, Andrea Parsons of Alpine; ex-wife and friend, Patricia “Patty” Parson of Alpine; brothers, Doug Parsons of Rickman and Tony “Smokey” Parsons of Monroe; brother in law and sister in law, Jim and Carol Beaty of Alpine; special brother, Chris Masiongale of Byrdstown; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
