Relative Caregiver Program Support Group Meeting

Are you raising a relative child or need housing assistance? For more information on assistance and support, please contact Melissa Allison at the Upper Cumberland Development District toll-free at 1-877-275-8233. A support group meeting will be held for relatives that are caring for relative children during the month of August 2021. Please contact Melissa Allison at (931) 476-4127 if you are interested in attending this meeting. For housing assistance, while caring for minor child contact Myra Walker at 931-432-4111. Narcotics Anonymous Meetings Every Friday beginning at 7 p.m.; every Sunday at 5 p.m.; second Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. All held at the Overton County Library. The program is not sponsored by the library. For more information call (931) 303-2132. The Stephens Center Parent-Child Connection Fall 2021, Series I: Wednesdays 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Sessions are held at the Stephens Center, located at 616 North Church St., Livingston. CANCELLED - LA Class of 1971 50 Year Reunion

LA class of ’71 50th reunion scheduled for September 4th at the Millard Vaughn Oakley Library has been cancelled.

Daughters of the Confederacy Meeting

The United Daughters of the Confederacy, Captain Sally Tompkins 2123 will have its monthly meeting Friday, September 3, 2021 at 1:00 in the upper level of the Putnam County Library.

Hummel-Sidwell Reunion

The Hummel-Sidwell reunion will be Saturday, September 4, 2021, at the Willow Grove Shelter. Lunch will be at 12:00 noon. Please bring a covered dish and your favorite soft drink.

L.B.J. & C Head Start Closing

The L.B.J.& C. Development Corporation Head Start Centers and the Central Office will be closed September 6, 2021 in observance of Labor Day. The Head Start Centers and office will re-open on September 7, 2021. All Solid Waste Convenience Centers All Solid Waste Convenience Centers will be closed Monday, Sept. 6 in observance of Labor Day. Regular business hours will resume on Tuesday, Sept. 7.

Parkinson’s Support Group

The Parkinson’s Support group will meet at 10:00 AM Tuesday September 7 at Caney Fork Baptist Church, 2404 Hwy 70 E., Cookeville TN. The speaker will be Shannon Blume from Abbvie on the general progression of Parkinson’s disease. Contact Roxanne Self at (931)261-4037 or Pat Handlson at (931)284-8818. Masks and social distancing required. American Legion Dance The SlickNickel band is returning to Livingston for an evening of dancing and country music on Friday September 3rd from 7pm until 10pm at the American Legion Post in Livingston located at 121 S. Church St. All dances are family friendly and open to the public, membership not necessary. Concessions are available.

Coffee With A Vet

Livingston’s American Legion Post 4 and Auxiliary Unit 4 along will be hosting “Coffee with a Veteran” on Saturday September 4th from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. at American Legion Post 4 headquarters located at 121 S. Church St., Livingston. We are inviting the public and those who have served or who are currently serving in our armed forces to come and have coffee, conversation, and enjoy the comradeship.

Legion Meeting

The Livingston American Legion and Auxiliary will hold their monthly meetings on Tuesday, September 7th at post headquarters located at 121 S. Church St. The Auxiliary meets at 5:30pm and the Legion meeting begins at 6:00pm.

Historical Society Meeting

Overton County Historical Society monthly meeting will be held September 7th at 5:30 pm. No program or speaker this month annual picnic and visiting location for this only will be behind 1st Baptist Church Livingston on East Main Street at picnic pavilion. Covered dish meal paper products furnished.

Adventist

The Livingston Seventh-day Adventist Fellowship is presenting a 24-part series entitled “Unlocking Bible Prophecy”. The series starts September 10 at 6:30 p.m. at 4130 Bradford Hicks Dr. in Livingston.
