William Roy Jackson
William Roy Jackson, better know to most as “Pa Roy”, 87. passed away Aug. 9. Funeral services were held Aug. 11 at Holly Springs Church of Christ with Bro. Bobby Gore and Bro. Bruce Mullinix officiating. Interment followed in the Holly Springs Cemetery.
He was born July 30, 1932. He worked in the furniture manufacturing until he retired and then worked on the farm. He instilled working hard to his girls, both in school, in basketball and in life.
He was preceded in death by: parents, R.D and Beulah; step mother, Lois; brother, Kenneth (wife) Lois; sisters, Wilma Dean Holman (husband John Riley) and Wanda Sevier (husband Arvil).
Surviving relatives include: wife, Birdie Gore Jackson; daughters, Kathy Sullivan and husband, Mike and Billie Rooker and husband, Tommy; grandchildren, Rebecca Case and husband, Robert, Stephanie Cowan and husband, Tim, Bryan Rooker and wife, Brittany, Matthew Rooker and wife, Brittany and Tyler Sullivan and fiancee, Anna; great grandchildren, Jackson, Thomas and William Case, Connor and Carter Cowan, Savannah Rooker and Jaxson and Addison Sullivan and their bonus Branson; special nieces, Gail Gore, Janie Carter and Judy Reagan.
Pallbearers were Bryan and Matthew Rooker, Tyler Sullivan and Robert, Jackson, Thomas and William Case and Tim Cowan. Honorary pallbearer were Connor and Carter Cowan, Savannah Rooker, Jaxon and Addison Sullivan and Branson Miller and Pa’s “other son” John Stephens.

Bobby Mitchell Dale
Bobby Mitchell Dale, 87, of Murfreesboro, passed away Aug. 12 at his residence. Funeral services were held Aug. 14 from the Hilham Church of Christ with Bro. John Mabrey officiating. Interment followed in the Hilham Cemetery.
He was born Sept. 9, 1933 in Overton County. He enjoyed driving race care, watching NASCAR, playing sports and traveling.
He was preceded in death by: parents, Ance Mitchell and Ola Mae Smith Dale; brother, Earl Dale; and sister, Reba Gaw.
Surviving relatives include: wife, Ruth Dale of Murfreesboro; daughters, Michelle Lynn Poston and husband, Tommy of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Megan Sanders and husband, Casey of Boulder, Colo., Candice Henslee and husband, Michael of Murfreesboro and Haley Poston of Nashville; and great grandchildren, Roscoe and Ruby Sanders and Lenore and Palmer Henslee.
Pallbearers were Jack Dale, David Dale, Jerry Carr, Jeremy Carr, Michael Henslee and Joey Maxwell.

Christopher Lee Hooks
Christopher Lee Hooks, 41, of Livingston, passed away Aug. 12 from his home. Funeral services were held Aug. 17 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Grant Pennington, Bro. Anthony White and Bro. David Sadler, Jr. officiating. Interment followed in the Overton County Memorial Gardens.
He was born April 22, 1980 in Livingston. He enjoyed fishing, drawing, family get together’s and music of all kinds. His greatest enjoyment was coaching and playing baseball.
Surviving relatives include: wife, TaShana Stephens Hooks of Livingston; son, Ethan Hooks of Livingston; mother, Carolyn White of Algood; father, Jimmy Hooks and wife, Kathy of Livingston; brother, Steve Hooks and wife, Chrissy of Cookeville; and sisters, Melissa Hooks of Algood and Melody Sadler and husband, David of Livingston.
Pallbearers were Kyle Stephens, Ty Stephens, Jordan Ogletree, Brad Method, Bobby Brown and Ben Barlow.
Charles Wayne England
Charles Wayne England, 65, of Algood, passed away Aug. 12 from Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held Aug. 15 from Pleasant Ridge Church with Bro. Nolan Cantrell and Bro. Brett Gibbons officiating. Interment followed in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
He was born Dec. 16, 1955 in Overton County. He loved working his delivery jobs, working on his tractor and fishing.
He was preceded in death by: father, Walter England; wife, Donna England; and sister, Barbara Anette England.

Joyce Bonita Smith
Joyce Bonita Smith, 84, of Livingston, passed away Aug. 8 in her residence. Graveside services were held Aug. 10 from the Green Hill Cemetery in Allons with Bro. James Sherrill officiating.
She was born Nov. 3, 1936 in Monroe. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great, great grandmother.
She was preceded in death by: mother, Geneva Cooper; husband, Marvin (Bill) J. Smith; and grandson, Josh Smith.
Surviving relatives include: daughters, Vickie Neathery of Livingston and Tammy Robbins and husband, Bryan of Bolestown; sons, Mike Smith and wife, Jan of Cookeville and Tim Smith and wife, Sandra of Gainesboro; grandchildren, Tom Hargis, Robbi Smith, Kourtney Smith and Ian Robbins; nine great grandchildren; a great, great grandchild; and sisters, Lorene Ann Dennis, Lola Jerrye Scott and Joyce Payne.

Michael K. Ellis
Michael K. Ellis, 62, of Cookeville, passed away Aug. 8 in Louisville, Ky. at the Nortons Audubon Hospital. Funeral services were held Aug. 14 from the chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Livingston with Bro. Tommy Harris officiating. The family has chosen cremation.
He was born Nov. 26, 1958 om Amderson, Ind.. He was retired after working at Oreck as a parts handler. He was a huge sports fan and card collector, loved coaching and anything sports related. He was a member of the Summerfield United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by: parents, Louis K. and Nettie Marie (Garrett) Ellis; and grandparents.

Bonnie Ruth Wright
Bonnie Ruth Wright, 79, of Hilham Community, passed away Aug. 14 at the Livingston Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be held Aug. 18 from the chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Livingston with Bro. Jeremy Bilbrey officiating. Interment followed in the Mount Gilead Cemetery in Hilham.
She was born Jan. 24, 1942 in Hilham. She worked in the garment factory until she retired. She had a love for flowers especially day lilies, so she took her passion for them and opened Wright’s Day Lilies; growing fifteen hundred or so different varieties.
She was preceded in death by: parents, Charlie and Dessie Lea (Hammons) Bilbrey; sisters, Lois Allre, Charlene Hicks, Barbara Robbins and Dortha Sidwell; and brothers, Doug Bilbrey, Kenneth Bilbrey and Billy Bilbrey.

Patti Ann Harlow
Patti Ann Harlow, 52, of Livingston, passed away Aug. 6 at the Livingston Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held Aug. 13 in the chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Livingston. The family has chosen cremation.
She was born April 25, 1969 in Elizabeth City, N.C. She was a LPN and worked for many years at the Overton County Nursing Home.
She was preceded in death by: parents, James Pointer and Virginia Maxine (Smith) Harlow.
Surviving relatives include: brother, Brian Harlow; sisters, Molly Turner and husband, John, Mary Christian and Jenny Harlow; special nephew, Bryan Lawhead; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Rebekah Ann Bull
Rebekah Ann Bull, 60, of Cookeville, passed away Aug. 9 at the Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital. Funeral services were held Aug. 12 from the Standing Stone Praise and Worship Center with Bro. Steven Barlow, Nathan Hawkins and Marty Bull officiating. Interment followed in the Union Cemetery in Overton County.
She was born Sept. 26, 1960 in Gainesboro. She worked in home health.
She was preceded in death by: parents, Waymon Hawkins and Loami Hawkins Morgan; brother, Junior Hawkins; sisters, Angela Hawkins, Barbara Barlow and husband, Leroy; sister in law, Linnie Hawkins and brother in law, Everett Garthwait.

Frank Martin, 87, of Livingston, passed away Aug. 21 from the Cookeville Regional Medical Center. A Celebration of Life Services were held Aug. 17 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. John Cahill officiating.
He was born in Overton County. He was currently serving as a County Commissioner for the 1st District of Overton County. He also served as a past Mayor of Livingston. He also was currently serving as a probation officer. He was Methodist in faith and served in the Army National Guard. He enjoyed traveling and was a community service man for many years.
She was preceded in death by: parents, Truman and Lola Vann Martin; wife, Glyna Crouch Martin; sisters, Jeanetta Renshaw and Novine Stockton; brother, Jerry Marting; and son in law, John Collins.
Surviving relatives include: daughters, Teresa Collins of Gordonsville, Missy Shook and husband, Bruce of Livingston and Mindy Pennington and husband, Phillip of Livingston; grandchildren, Lauren Coffman, Katie Gaw, Diana Davis, Trey Davis and Trey King; great grandchildren, Rylee Coffman, Ryder Coffman and Kami Gaw; brother, James Martin and wife, Marcia of Livingston; and sister, Geraldine Burton and husband, James of Georgia.
Eva Mae Thomen
We, the family of Eva Mae Thomen of Livingston, TN would like to regretfully announce her passing on Aug. 10, 2021. She passed peacefully surrounded by her family.
Eva was born Sept. 15, 1939, as the middle of three girls to James and June Owen in Braintree, VT. Eva’s real love was telling others about Jehovah God and spreading the hope and comfort from the Bible. That is how she was known and will be remembered, by many in the community.
In addition to her parents, Eva was preceded in death by: sisters, Rhoda Rice and Joyce Perdue; husband, Robert (Bob) Thomen; daughter in law, Judy Thomen; sister in law, Bertha Campbell; and granddaughter, Katie Thomen.
She is survived by: children, David and wife, Cindy Thomen, James Thomen, Michael and wife, Denise Thomen, Beverly and husband, Kelly Wilmoth, Matthew and wife, Alicia Thomen, Andrew and wife, Tiffany Thomen. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren; brother in law, Richard Thomen and several other family and friends.
