Bobby Ward Ledford, Jr.

Bobby Ward Ledford, Jr., 47, of Livingston, passed away July 19 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held July 21 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Nelson Cemetery.

He was born May 26, 1974 in Overton County. He enjoyed WWF, football and video games.

He was preceded in death by: grandparents, Ward and Eula Tinch Ledford and Leon and Else Bumbalough.

Surviving relatives include: daughter, Autumn Rose Ledford of Red Boiling Springs; parents, Bobby and Lela Ann Ledford of Livingston; granddaughter, Brooklyn Cherry of Red Boiling Springs; and brother, Robby Ledford of Livingston.

 

Rebel Lee Hammock

Rebel Lee Hammock, 65, of Livingston, passed away July 16 at her residence. Funeral services were held July 21 from the chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Livingston with Bro. Jeff Short officiating. Interment followed in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Rickman.

She was born June 10, 1956 in Alpine. She was a member of the Liberty Freewill Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by: parents, Cooper Lee and Rubie (Cantrell) Deck; husbands, Claude Edward Hammock and James David Hammock; daughter, Stacey Lynn Hammock; son, Ricky Lee Hammock; sisters, Judy Carter and Carolyn Copeland; and brothers, Bud ‘JC’ Deck and Roger Lee Deck.

Surviving relatives include: daughter, Lori Reagan; sister, Wanda Savage; granddaughter, Savannah Carmack Roberts; grandson, Bubba Harrison Carmack; and great grandsons, Alucard Roberts and Aidan Roberts.

Pallbearers were Bubba Harrison Carmack, Jamie Carmack, Zach Lepore, and J.E. Ledbetter.

 

James (Jim) Cletus Staggs

James (Jim) Cletus Staggs, 60, of Rickman, passed away July 19 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held July 24 from the chapel of Hall Funeral Home of Livingston with Bro. Richard Harris officiating. Interment followed in the Harris Chapel Cemetery.

He was born June 4, 1961 in Battle Creek, Mich. He was a logger by profession and worked hard for his family.

He was preceded in death by: father, T.V. Staggs; sisters, Vicky Bowman and Jessie Ilene Pryor and husband, Junior Pryor; brother-in-laws, Lonnie Bowman and Jeff Bowman and sister-in-law, Pauline Staggs.

Surviving relatives include: daughter, Jennifer Sells; sons, Dustin Staggs and wife, Chelsea and Greg Bowers and wife, Ashley; grandsons, Chance Sells, Logan Sells and Caston Bowers; granddaughters, Haley Sells, Kiley Staggs, Kennedy Staggs and Laney Bowers; brothers, Donald Staggs and wife, Melanie, Jeff Staggs and wife, Terri and W.J. Staggs; sisters, Zinie Bilbrey and Roger Linder, Lisa Bowman; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

 

 

Robert Luther Brown

Robert Luther Brown, 73, of Livingston, passed away July 18 at Livingston Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held July 22 from the Chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Livingston. Interment followed in the Okolona Cemetery.

He was born Nov. 3, 1947 in Livingston. He served in the United State Army.

He was preceded in death by: parents, Luther and Delma (Ledbetter) Brown.

Surviving relatives include: wife Diana Brown; son, Bobby Brown and wife, Beverly; granddaughters, Brooklyn Brown and Bailey Brown; and sister, Wilma Wheeler and husband, Garland.

 

John E. Tyree

John E. Tyree, 80, of Rickman, passed away July 20 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held July 23 from the chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Livingston with Bro. Matthew Tyree. Interment followed in the Zion Hill Cemetery.

He was born Oct. 15, 1940. He served in the United States Army.

He was preceded in death: by parents, John Alvin and Mae (Harp) Tyree.

Surviving relatives include: daughters, Donna Tyree, Stacy Willis and Gayette Hamann; grandchildren, Matthew Tyree and wife, Shanae, Elijah Willis, Hannah Willis and Isaiah Willis; four great grandchildren; sister, Judy Pendergrass; brother, Alvin Tyree and wife, Joy; and a host of family and friends.

 

Artie Mae Ledford

Artie Mae Ledford, 86, of Livingston, passed away July 19 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held July 23 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home in Livingston with Bro. Eugene McCowan and Derek Worley officiating. Interment followed in the Good Hope Cemetery.

She was born Sept. 2, 1934 in Cumberland County. She loved spending time with her family, cooking meals for them, quilting, gardening and listening to bluegrass and Gospel music.

She was preceded in death by: parents, Wilson and Sarah Swafford Stamps; husband, Wilmoth Ledford; brothers, Stanley and Ridley Stamps; and sisters, Orcie and Ova Auberson.

Surviving relatives include: daughter, Linda Worley and husband, Billy of Livingston; and grandson, Derek Worley and wife, Sarah of Cookeville.

Pallbearers were Troy Vaughn, Alan Stamps, Mark Ledford, Phillip Reeder, Roger Auberson and Randy Stamps.

 

Dr. Albert Austin Jones, III

Dr. Albert Austin Jones, III, a long-time resident of Livingston, Tennessee, and radiologist at the Livingston Regional Hospital passed away peacefully, Thursday, July 22, 2021, surrounded by his friends and family at Livingston Hospital where he served for more than thirty years having lost his long term battle with sarcoma.

Dr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Jones, Jr, and Lemo Jewell (Simmons) Jones.

Dr. Jones is survived by his brother, David B. Jones, and Sister-in-law, Debra Matherne, and nephews, William Tate Jones of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Dr. Davis Brent Jones of Manhattan, New York.

Dr. Jones served in the United States Army Medical Corps.

Dr. Jones was a graduate of the University Tennessee College of Medicine and a Board Certified Radiologist by the American College of Radiology.

Dr. Jones was involved in and supported many activities in his adopted hometown of Livingston. Dr. Jones was known by his friends for his intelligence, infectious smile, great laugh, and his kind and compassionate spirit. He went out of his way to show kindness and support when friends were in need.

Dr. Jones chose cremation, the family followed his wishes, and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

Billy Glen Winningham

Billy Glen Winningham, 68, of Livingston, passed away July 19 from Stone Crest Hospital in Smyrna. A Celebration of Life service was held July 22 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home in Livingston with Bro. John Keith officiating.

He was born on June 4, 1953 in Dearborn, Mich. He loved fishing, playing piano and witnessing to others about his Faith. He also enjoyed reading books and traveling.

He was preceded in death by: mother, Faye Wright Winningham.

Surviving relatives include: sons, Ben Winningham and wife, Kaycie of Livingston and Sam Winningham and wife, Emily of Livingston; daughters, Jen Poston and husband, Scott of Livingston, Bekka Flowers and husband, Russell of Livingston, Vicky Ford and husband, Darren of Rickman and Ellie Scott and husband, Kevin of Livingston; father, Ovid Winningham and wife, Joy of Livingston; grandchildren, Tristian, Jack, Sarah, Aden, Jude, Amelia, Liam, Gabe, Eli, Cate, Seth, Leah, Sadie and Carson; great grandchild, Evalynn “Gwen” Winningham; brothers, Duane Winningham and wife, Barbara of Columbia and Charles Winningham and wife, Melanie of Hilham; and several nieces and nephews.

 

Sharon Kay Smith Reece

Sharon Kay Smith Reece, 67, of Livingston, passed away July 22 from the Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held July 26 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Buck officiating. Interment followed in the Fisk Cemetery.

She was born Aug. 6, 1953 in Anderson, Ind. She worked for 25 years at the Overton County Health and Rehab.

She was preceded in death by: parents, Norman and Katherine Louise Smith; husband, Danny Reece; and brother, David Smith.

Surviving relatives include: son, Kenneth Reece and wife, Jenny of Hilham; daughters, Kimberly Scott and Kristy Phillips, both of Livingston; grandchildren, Brian Reece and wife, Shanda, Kayla and Amber Reece, Brooke Poston and husband, Lance, Austin Phillips, Brooklyn Reece, Kendra Reece, Kaylea Scott, Kevin Reagan and Dalton Reece; 12 great grandchildren; brothers, Timmy Smith, Mark Smith and James Smith, all of Livingston; and sisters, Patricia Foster and Linda Brightbill, both of Pensacola, Fla. and Dian Kernell of Allons.

Pallbearers were Austin Phillips, Lance Poston, Mark Smith, Johnny Reece, Brian Reece and Brandson Pennington.
