Jacob Alexander Wilkerson
Jacob Alexander Wilkerson, 17, of Russellville, Ky., passed away on June 26. Funeral services were held on July 3 from the chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Clark Gardens Cemetery.
He was born in Jackson, Tenn., on Feb. 6, 2004. He was a student at Russellville High School and attended the First Baptist Church in Russellville. He was an avid car enthusiast and enjoyed collecting Hawaiian shirts. In his spare time, he could be found playing video games or watching and drawing cartoons. He will be remembered for his brilliant mind, beautiful soul and generous spirit. He was truly loved by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by: grandfathers, Kenneth Brown, and James “Monroe” Wilkerson; great-grandparents, Casey and Opal (Hammock) Brown, Charlie Allen and Jeanetta (Holbert) Allen, Ira Ernest and Eliza May (Judge) Wilkerson, and Willie and Asree (Stephens) Sisk.
He is survived by: parents, Steven and Donna Wilkerson of Russellvile, Ky; twin sister, Jennifer Wilkerson of Russellville, Ky; siblings, Matthew Wilkerson of Russellville and Phillip Wilkerson of Huntsville, Ala.; grandmothers, Judith (Allen) Brown of Livingston, and Maybelle (Sisk) Wilkerson of Keith Springs, Tenn; uncles, Greg (Karen) Wilkerson of Murfreesboro, Brad (Lori) Wilkerson of Decherd; aunt, Rhonda Wilkerson of Keith Springs, Tenn; first cousins, Joshua (Kelsey) Wilkerson, Kristopher (Alexis) Wilkerson, and Robbie Wilkerson; and many great aunts, great uncles, and cousins. He also leaves behind a beloved pet, Cooper.
Retia K. Martin
Retia K. Martin, 65, of Monroe, passed away from her residence on June 25. Funeral services were held on June 28 from the Free Communion Church of Christ. Interment followed in the Overton County Memorial Gardens. Bro. Chris Coil officiated.
She was born in Overton County on April 24, 1956. She was a hard working woman, working as a cook in health care. She loved her family very much and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by: parents, James Oscar and Meekle Mae (Smith) Laycock.
She is survived by: husband, Steve Martin; sisters, Brenda Sue Bingham and Linda Laycock; brothers, Gary Laycock and wife, Charlotte, James Hollis Laycock and wife, Vicky, Ronald Laycock and wife, Terri, Ricky Laycock, Jeff Laycock and wife, Katie; mother-in-law, Betty Paul; brother-in-law, Lance Martin and a host of family and friends.
Hall Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Michelene Blaylock Norrod
Michelene Blaylock Norrod, 92, of Crossville, passed away on June 29 from the Cumberland Medical Center. Funeral services were held on July 2 from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Davis Cemetery. Jeff Phipps officiated.
She was born in Overton County on July 10, 1928. She was a homemaker and a 1945 graduate of Rickman High School, where she earned a teaching certificate and taught school. She was a member of Three Forks Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by: parents, Mike and Orgie Boman Blaylock; husband, Joyce Willard “J.W.” Norrod; and daughter, Jacki Volkenborn.
She is survived by: daughter, Linda Phipps of Crossville; sons, Greg Norrod, of Troy, Mich, and Keith Norrod of Ira Township, Mich.; eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Betty J Fenwick
Betty J Fenwick, 87, of Allons, passed away on June 25 from her residence. Funeral services were held on June 29 in the chapel of Hall Funeral Home. Interment followed in St. John’s Cemetery. Bro. Gary Wilkerson officiated.
She was born in Loiusville, Ky., on Sept. 21, 1933.
She was preceded in death by: parents, Harry Edward Kountz and Annie Laurie Chandler Kountz; husband, Henry Marvin Fenwick; brothers, Harry Edward Kountz and John Kountz; sisters, Margaret Hourigan, Doris Wilkerson and Joan Hammer.
She is survived by: daughter, Sharon Reagan and husband, Clark; sons, Gregg Fenwick and significant other, Tammy Austin, Alan Fenwick, Gregg Fenwick and significant other Emily Myers; grandchildren, Callie Hawkins and husband Eric, McKensie Stover and husband, Rick, Lynn Dewees and husband, Gregory, Jesse Fenwick, Brandon Fenwick and Derek Fenwick; great-grandchildren, Hannah McDonald-Sullivan and husband, Connor, Haylee McDonald, Brayden Stover, Emma Stover, Reagan Hawkins, Ryder Dewees and Adelyn Dewees and a host of family and friends.
