Floy Clarius Beechboard
Floy Clarius Beechboard, 80, of Allons, passed away from her residence on May 21. Funeral Services were held on May 24 from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Overton County Memorial Gardens. Bro. Myron Greer officiated.
She was born in Overton County on Oct. 2, 1940. She was a member of Allons Baptist Church. She loved her family, gardening, cooking, tending to her flowers and going to church. She will be missed by her family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by parents, Floyd and Flonnie Waites Ferrell; father of her children, Woodroe “Woody” Beechboard; daughter-in-law, Connie Beechboard; and grandparents, Brinkley Howard and Mary Avo (Gore) Ferrell and Oscar Lee and Martha Emeline (Stone) Waites.
She is survived by sons, Wayne Beechboard of Hilham and Bobby Beechboard and wife, Cathy of Cookeville; daughter, Marla Beechboard of Allons; grandchildren, Chad Beechboard and wife, Lisa, Andy Beechboard and wife, Hannah, Brian Beechboard, Brent Beechboard and wife, Rachel, Alicia Tyson and fiancée Kyle Bouldin, and Eric Beechboard and wife, Nikki; great-grandchildren, Lily Beechboard, Parker Beechboard, Cole Beechboard, Joshue Beechboard, Luke Tyson, Kaylin Bouldin and Jake Bouldin; step great-grandchildren, Jon Hernandez, Dylan Carbaugh, Tyler Spencer, Nathaniel Vaughn, Zayne Vaughn and Maddie Minnear; brother, Gaywon Ferrell and wife, Cathy of Cookeville; nephews Bill Ferrell and wife, Abby and Michael Ferrell and wife, Lisa; and niece, Leann Harney and husband, Tonnie and their children.
Honorary pallbearers who served were Luke Tyson, Andy Beechboard, Brian Beechboard, Brent Beechboard, Eric Beechboard and Kyle Bouldin.
Tony Bennett, 60, of Rickman, passed away on May 17 at the Saint Thomas West Hospital in Nashville. Funeral services were held on May 21 from the chapel of Hall Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Eckels Cemetery. Bro. Jeff Monday officiated.
He was born on Feb. 18, 1961. He loved his family and friends very much. He was a hard worker who drove a truck transporting gas. He was loved so much and will be missed greatly.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Alford and Hallie Hicks and Harland and Gladis Bennett; and an uncle, Woncie Bennett.
He was survived by daughter, Lana Reagan; grandson, Cade Reagan; parents, Clyde and Jewel Bennett; brother, Terry Bennett and wife, Arlisa; niece, Kassie Bennett; nephew, Lance Holland; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends.
Pallbearers who served were Tim Wright, Rick Thompson, Tim Reid, Tim Hargis, Lance Holland, Ricky Ricketson, Dakota Richards and Coady Willhite. Honorary Pallbearer was Cade Reagan.
Shirlie Alfred Reeder
Shirlie Alfred Reeder, 73, of Madison, Tenn. and formerly of Overton County, passed away on May 18 from the Alvin C. York VA Medical Center in Murfreesboro. Celebration of Life services were held on May 28 from the Pasquo Church of Christ in Nashville. Interment followed in the Veteran’s Cemetery in Nashville.
He was born in Overton County on Nov. 23, 1947. He served his nation as a member of the United States military during the Vietnam War and was a fan of the University of Tennessee athletic programs.
He was preceded in death by parents, Clarvess Franklin and Nellie (Kyle) Reeder; and brothers, Fred Reeder and Mayford Reeder.
He leaves behind daughters, Jongee Arnold and husband, Greg, of Livingston and Ashley Reeder and Brian Reagan, of Nashville; son, Brent Reeder and Louise Turek of Donelson; sisters, Betty Bowman of Livingston and Charlene Sisco and husband, Jim, of Madison; brothers, Marshall Reeder and wife, Rita of Bellvue, John Reeder of Knoxville, and Billy Joe Reeder of Houston, Texas; and a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Sammy Ezell Thurman, 89, of Allons, passed away at the Tristar Skyline Hospital in Nashville on May 24. Funeral Services were held on May 28 from the chapel of Hall Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Hunter Cove Cemetery. Bro. Eric Dillon officiated.
He was born on May 1, 1932 in Hilham. He was a long haul truck driver and also served in the Army.
He was preceded in death by parents, Sam Thurman and Pearlie (Kirby) Thurman and Mike Thurman.
He is survived by wife, Bobbie Thurman; sons, Keith Thurman and wife, Sherry and Kenny Thurman; daughter-in-law, Amy Thurman; granddaughter, Morgan Hale and husband, Andrew; grandson, Dylan Thurman; and a host of family and friends.
Curtis Ray Abbott
Curtis Ray Abbott, 65, of Livingston passed away on May 24. Funeral Services were held on May 27 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Miller Cemetery. Bro. Bobby Gore officiated.
He was born in Overton County on June 5, 1955. He loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed listening to music with his friends, and living alone, off by himself. He liked going to yard sales and buying things to fix up for re-sale.
He was preceded in death by parents, James and Reba Breeding Abbott; sister, Geraldine Smith; and brothers Michael Abbott, Larry Abbott and Billy Abbott.
He is survived by daughter, Angel Allred of Livingston; grandchildren Jessica Allred, Donnie Allred III, Abby Allred and Emma Allred; sister, Earlene Rush and husband, Bob, of Kalamazoo, Mich.; brother, Randall Abbott and wife, Helen, of Livingston; and several nieces and nephews.
Anna Lee Henry
Anna Lee Henry, 74, of Cookeville, passed away at the Signature Healthcare of Putnam on May 26. Funeral Services were held on May 27 from the chapel of Hall Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Fellowship Cemetery. Bro. Roger Phillips officiated.
She was born in Overton County on Feb. 16, 1947.
She was preceded in death by parents, Willie E. Sidwell and Burnice (Dishman) Sidwell.
She is survived by husband, William Henry; son, Scotty Henry; brothers, Johnny Sidwell and Gary Sidwell; sisters, Darlene Masters, Debbie Sidwell and Dean Watkins and a host of family and friends.
