A tight game against Cookeville High School on April 26 showed what the Livingston Academy Lady Wildcats were made of, as they managed to grind out a win in ten innings, besting the Lady Cavs by a score of 5-4.
The game was tied at four with the Lady Wildcats batting in the top of the tenth when an error allowed the LA girls to score.
The game started strong for the Lady Cavs, as Emma Dulworth singled on a 3-2 pitch, scoring a run.
Sabrina Garrett started the game for LA.
The righty lasted five and two thirds innings, allowing seven hits and four runs, while striking out two and walking zero.
Jordan Key earned the victory in the pitcher’s circle.
The left-hander allowed zero hits and zero runs over four and a third innings, striking out three and walking zero, a flawless effort for the senior.
The Lady Cats racked up 13 hits in the game. Key, Abby Stevens, Dulworth, and Sidney Moffitt all had multiple hits. Key led with three hits in five at-bats.
