Drive Thru COVID-19 Testing Locations

Traditional testing is now available Monday through Friday at the Overton County Fairgrounds from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.

Spring 2021, Series II: Wednesdays 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Sessions are held at the Stephens Center, located at 616 North Church St., Livingston. Certificates will be awarded to parents attending eight sessions within the series. There is no charge for PCC sessions. Program Support Group Meeting

Are you raising a relative child or need housing assistance? For more information on assistance and support, please contact Melissa Allison at the Upper Cumberland Development District toll free at 1-877-275-8233. A support group meeting will be held for relatives that are caring for relative children during the month of April 2021. Please contact Melissa Allison at (931) 476-4127 if you are interested in attending this meeting. For housing assistance while caring for minor child, contact Myra Walker at 931-432-4111.

Applications

L.B.J. & C. Head Start is currently accepting applications to provide free comprehensive child development services to children 3-5 years of age for all children including children with disabilities in a full day program. School Readiness and well-being of children is the primary goal at L.B.J. & C. Head Start. L.B.J. & C. Head Start serves children virtually and traditionally and also focuses on family well-being. The Fairground Volunteer Fire Station will be hosting a blood drive on Saturday, April 17 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the fire station parking lot.

Habitat For Humanity Panel Build

The Overton County Habitat For Humanity is welcoming all to watch volunteers erect the walls to the first Overton County Habitat Home on Saturday, April 17 from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Volunteers will build all of the walls for the Martin Family home in one day.

Boston Butt Pick-Up

American Legion Post 4 and Auxiliary Unit 4 has announced that everyone who pre-ordered a Boston Butt can pick them up on Saturday, April 17, from 8 a.m. to noon at 121 South Church Street in Livingston. Boston Butts not picked up by noon will be available for sale while supplies last.

Bake Sale

American Legion Auxiliary Unit 4 will be hosting a bake sale from 8 a.m. until noon Saturday, April 17, at 121 S. Church Street in Livingston. A wide selection will be available.

LA Band Fundraiser

On Saturday, April 24, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Livingston Academy’s “Spirit of the Wildcats” marching band will be hosting a drive-thru recycle day fundraiser in the lot between Hardee’s and Fast Pace on West Main Street in Livingston. Those donating shouldn’t need to leave their vehicles. If loading or delivery assistance is needed, please contact John McMillen at 931-252-6479. They’ll be accepting donations of aluminum cans, scrap metal, copper, washers, dryers, refrigerators, dishwashers, vehicles with titles, and old farm equipment. If there are any questions, please contact Jenny Story, band president, at 931-261-0233. Donations will aid in the marching band’s instrument repairs, purchase of band equipment, and will go towards other financial needs so these students can enjoy the band program to its fullest.

Spring Clean

Up Week

Spring Clean Up Week will begin Monday, April 26 and continue through Friday, April 30 for the citizens of Livingston. Any unwanted items should be placed at the curb for pick up. We cannot accept tires, fencing materials, or paint.

Rep. John Rose

Announces Local Office Hours

During the local office hours, district staff will be available to answer questions and assist constituents with federal casework, such as social security and veterans benefits, steps for obtaining a passport, and more. Representative Rose will be represented by Field Representative Lou Nave on Wednesday, April 28 from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m.

Benefit For Steven Smith

Steven Smith was diagnosed with Moya Moya, which is a rare chronic and progressive condition of the arteries in the brain. A benefit to support his medical and living expenses will be held May 1 at the Joe L. Evins Community Center. Auction will begin at 4 p.m.
