Upon the arrival of LPD, the officers found that Chris Melton had injuries consistent with that of a gunshot wound.
According to the police narrative, Melton went to Richardson’s residence to start an altercation and during that altercation, Richardson shot Melton.
Melton was treated at the scene and was eventually transferred to Vanderbilt Hospital for the treatment of his injuries.
Although the incident is still under investigation, Richardson’s attorney Brett Knight stated he has been cooperating totally.
