The Livingston Academy Basketball teams took the court on Friday, Jan. 22 to take on the Upperman Bees. It was their first game since playing Upperman on Jan. 5, so it had been 17 days since playing a game.
The girls came out rusty on Friday night, being outscored by Upperman 30-13 in the first half. Things would not get any better after halftime either, as the Lady Wildcats would only score six points in the third quarter and only five in the fourth quarter.
The Lady Wildcats lost to the Lady Bees 55-24. Leading in scoring was Hailey Cronk with eight points.
Scoring for the girls against Upperman were: Aleah Melton with six, Kaylee Asberry with two, Hallie Ledbetter with two, Allie Qualls with two, Abby Reeder with two, Mallie Coleman with one and Keaton Webb with one.
The boys came out ready to play on Friday night as they would outscore Upperman 16-11 in the first quarter. But after that the Bees’ defense and offense got things going and they outscored the Wildcats 25-4 in the second quarter. The score at halftime was 36-20 Bees. After halftime the Wildcats would have no answer for the Bees as they were outscored 25-7 in the third quarter. The Wildcats finally figured out how to handle the Bees, holding them to only four points in the fourth quarter but it was too little too late.
