Drive Thru COVID-19 Testing Locations

Traditional testing is not available Monday, Wednesday, Friday and self testing is only available to adults. Traditional testing will still be offered on Tuesday and Thursday at no charge: Overton County Health Department from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m.

Free Flu Shots

The Overton County Health Department is offering free flu shots every Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. until 4:15 p.m. The shots can be administered within the facility or you can request outside services.

Trash Routes

Trash will not be picked up Friday, Jan. 1. Friday’s trash route will be picked up on Monday, Jan. 4.

All Overton County Convenience Centers

All Overton County Convenience Centers will be closed Friday, Jan 1 in observance of New Year’s Day.

Board Of Education

The Overton County Board of Education will meet in regular session on January 12. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. The first item of business on the agenda will be the consideration of the contract of the director of schools.

Overton County Commission

Overton County Commission will meet in regular session on Monday, Jan. 11, 2021 at 5 p.m. via teleconference.

First Day Hike

First Day Hike Presented By Standing Stone State Park. Friday, Jan. 1 starting at 9 a.m. Everyone has a New Year’s resolution, and Standing Stone State Park challenges you to add hiking to that resolution. TN State Parks have several opportunities throughout the year for hikes, and Standing Stone State Park, along with other State Parks, will be hosting a New Year’s Day Hike to get your 2021 on the right track. Ranger Shawn Hughes will be leading this hike and you will be meeting at the Park Office, at 9 a.m. and setting out on the trails at 9:15 a.m. This will be a great time to learn about other opportunities coming in 2021, burn off a few of the holiday calories, and mostly enjoy being outdoors. The hike will be a moderately difficult 1.25-mile hike, on uneven terrain, and with a couple of elevation changes. Bring sturdy shoes, water, and clothing suitable for the changing Tennessee weather. This hike is open to both adults and children. Registration is required. Limited to 10 participants. For more information, please contact the Park Office at (931) 823-6347.

The United Daughters Of The Confederacy

The United Daughters of the Confederacy, Captain Sally Tompkins 2123 will have its monthly meeting Friday, Jan. 8 at 1 p.m. in the upper level of the Putnam County Library.
