A 13th Judicial District Circuit Court Judge has been reprimanded because of inappropriate messages that had been sent to women on various social media platforms.
Judge Jonathan Lee Young—who presides over various civil and criminal court cases—has been reprimanded because of inappropriate messages that had been sent dating back to 2015.
Young presides over Clay, Cumberland, DeKalb, Overton, Pickett, Putnam and White counties.
Recipients of the messages include local law professionals that had conducted business within his court and a litigant who had a child custody case in which he had presided. According to a letter from the Board of Judicial Conduct, the messages ranged from “flirtatious to overtly sexual,” with most communications depicting him in his judicial robe.
