The Overton County Board of Education met last Tuesday night and discussed bond options to fund the Livingston Academy sports complex that has been under discussion and review for several months.
Board member Mike Hayes expressed that over the last few weeks he has been meeting with Overton County Executive Ben Danner and Budget Director Connie York to discuss financial options to have the stadium built.
Hayes informed the board it would be possible for the board to take out an $8.9 million bond, which would finance the field on the “Mason” property.
“The field would be multi-purpose,” Hayes said. “It would be for football, soccer, track, band—everyone would get use out the field up there.”
He stated that while this new facility was being built, the current facility would still be able to be used in the meantime.
