Overton County Commissioners met in their regularly scheduled nursing home meeting Aug. 20 and discussed bonuses for all staff for extra shifts worked during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Overton County Health and Rehab (OCHR) Administrator Jennifer Bouldin came to the committee with a request of a bonus for her staff that has worked diligently since the beginning of COVID-19.
“Since this pandemic has started, we’ve hired four people in the nursing department,” she said. “It is hard for us to get any staff right now, and the staff that we have has done amazing.”
She explained that as community spread increases, healthcare workers and nursing home staff are more exposed.
