Committee Hears Problems In The Waterloo Community

Commissioners met in a Highway and Property Committee meeting last Thursday at the Overton County Courthouse Annex to discuss Virgil Murphy Lane.

A resident property owner on Virgil Murphy Lane was present for the meeting and explained that she had not received proper notice of the discussion, which was to be held by the committee.

According to property owner Alice Davey, she was in attendance at the meeting to invite the commissioners to her open house for the Waterloo Events Center and saw that county road was being discussed.

“If we can get proper notice to be discussing this so I can have my attorney present, then I would feel much more comfortable with that. I wasn’t given any notice that Virgil Murphy Lane was on the agenda,” she said. “I just came to invite you all to our open house.”
