Lorraine Valentine

Lorraine Valentine, 88, of Allons passed away June 28 from her residence. Funeral services were held July 4 at the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Overton County Memorial Gardens. Bro. Derrick Copeland officiated.

She was born in Pennsylvania on June 15, 1932. She loved her family very much and enjoyed quilting, crocheting and spending time in her flower gardens. She frequently listened to Gospel music and always found time to read her Bible.

She was preceded in death by parents, Lester and Hazel Wert Pry and husband, Donald William Valentine.

She is survived by daughters, Betty Ann Leib and husband, Earl of Mechanicsburg, Pa. and Linda Woodring and husband, Allen of Laudisburg, Pa.; sons, Ed Valentine and wife, Grace of Lancaster, Pa., Jim Valentine and wife, Lila of Allons and Glen Valentine of Dayton, Texas; grandchildren, Erica Garber and husband, Mike, Heather Leib, Jason Woodring and wife, Melissa, Josh Woodring and wife, Ruby, Melissa Hinnebush and husband, Dan, Laura Campbell and husband, Abram, Jamie Valentine and wife, Lori, Brady Valentine and Brody Valentine; 11 great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; three step-great-great-grandchildren; sister, Caroline Pry Mikibben of Carlisle, Pa. and brother, Rodney Pry.

Pallbearers who served were Jamie Valentine, Bryce Simmons, Josh Woodring, Jason Woodring, Cole White and Toby White.

Margie Maxine

Sells

Margie Maxine Sells, 77, of Alpine passed away June 29 from the Livingston Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held July 2 at the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Beaty Cemetery. Bro. Alvin Copeland and Bro. Kevin Smith officiated.

She was born in Overton County on July 17, 1942. She enjoyed quilting, watching Gunsmoke and John Wayne films and drinking coffee while watching the television.

She was preceded in death by parents, James Arter Beaty and Lerla Reagan Beaty King; husband Kenneth Sells; son, Eddie Sells and sisters, Bonnie King and Betty McDonald.

She is survived by sons, Mark Sells and wife, Tammy of Monroe and Steve Norris and wife, Nicole of Cookeville; grandchildren, Jeremy, Lucas, Matt, Sarah, Jayton, Morgan, Kaleb, Cayslee, Parker and Carley; great-grandchildren, Capp, Carter, Sutton and Liam; sisters, Peggy Conatser of Jamestown, Barbara Jeane Davenport and husband, James of Murfreesboro, Sandy Tubb of Gordonsville and Judy Robbins of Rickman.

Pallbearers who served were Jeremy Sells, Lucas Sells, Matthew Sells, Charlie Sells, Parker Norris and Carson Smith.

Nikki Lynn

(Geesling) Showalter

Nikki Lynn (Geesling) Showalter, 33, of Hilham passed away July 1 from Erlanger Health System in Chattanooga. Graveside services were held July 5 at the Campground Cemetery. Bro. Roger Phillips and Bro. Jason Bryant officiated.

She was born in Overton County on Aug. 7, 1986. She loved being outdoors and working in her flowers. She cared for her family deeply and enjoyed all types of music.

She was preceded in death by father, Kevin Geesling and grandfather, Ernest Geesling.

She is survived by husband, Tommy Showalter of Hilham; sons, Isiah Showalter and Tayvin Showalter of Hilham; brother, Daniel Geesling of Cookeville; grandmother, Imogene Geesling of Hilham; maternal mother, Lisa Hargis of Cookeville and maternal grandmother, Evelyn Ferguson of Jackson County.

Pallbearers who served were Josh Walker, Brandon Geesling, Daniel Geesling, Chad Dillon, Chris Matthews and Brian Dailey.

Nell Ordean (Bilbrey) Roberts-Wilcox

Nell Ordean (Bilbrey) Roberts-Wilcox, 87, of Anderson, Ind. passed away June 30 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Chesterfield. Graveside services were held July 6 at Bolestown Cemetery.

She was born April 5, 1933 in Livingston. She was a 1950 graduate of Livingston Academy. She retired as the Outpatient Registration Clerk for Community Hospital after 30 years of service. She was a member of South Meridian Church of God, where she was involved in missionary groups, and was formerly a youth leader.

She was preceded in death by mother, Velva Elizabeth Bilbrey; father, Porter Bilbrey; first husband, James Donald Roberts, Sr.; second husband, John Wilcox and daughter-in-law, Lee Ann Roberts.

She is survived by daughter, Sandra (Sandy) Roberts (Michael) Thompson; son, Don Roberts; brother, Bill (LeVere) Bilbrey; sister-in-law, Jill Bilbrey, grandchildren, Travis (Jess) Thompson, Holly Craver, Darrah (Ryan) Lehman Adams and Dustin (Janelle) Lehman and several great-grandchildren.

Almonrode

Homer Almonrode, 80, of Livingston passed from his residence on July 4. Graveside services were held July 6 at the Overton County Memorial Gardens with interment following. Bro. Aron Dillon, Bro. Mark Neely and Bro. Jerry Murphy officiated.

He was born in Livingston on July 29, 1939. He was associated with the Christian Community Church. He was a loving husband and a loving father. He will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by parents, Ermon and Lela (Collins) Almonrode; brothers, R. L. Almonrode and Carl Almonrode.

He is survived by wife, Tootsie Almonrode; son, Michael Almonrode; sisters, Juanita Meadows and Jimmie Masters; sister-in-law, Barbara Fletcher and husband, Terry; brother-in-law, Danny Upchurch and wife, Dianne; a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends.

Pallbearers who served were Jessie Smith, James Smith, David York, Derick Upchurch, Chris Fletcher and Bobbie Almonrode.

Honorary pallbearers were Jerry Linder, Dewayne Upchurch and Rick Stamps.

Ogletree

Donald Felix Ogletree, 82, of Livingston passed away July 5 from his residence. Funeral services will be July 8 at the chapel of Hall Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Walnut Grove Cemetery. Bro. Danny Staggs will be officiating.

He was born in Livingston on Dec. 14, 1937. He worked road construction and was a member of the Swallows Chapel Church of Christ. He loved his family very much and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by parents, Felix and Mildred (Savage) Ogletree and brother, Mike Ogletree.

He is survived by wife, Naoma Ogletree of Livngston; daughter, Donna Reagan and husband, James of Monroe; step-daughters, Lesia Kempton and Donna Harvey both of Livingston; grandson, Christopher Hammock and wife, Danielle of Livingston; granddaughters, Kellie Wells and husband, Gary of Allons, Elizabeth Harvey of Livingston and Sarah Slaven and husband, Lance of Kentucky; five great-grandsons; two great-granddaughters; brother, Buddy Ogletree and wife, Betty of California; sister, Kathy Winningham and husband, Marlon of Livingston and uncle, Owen Savage and wife, Wanda of Livingston.

Pallbearers who served were Cayden Hammock, Braxton Hammock, Chris Hammock, Donnie Breeding, Gary Wells and Lance Slaven.

Liz McCormick, 82, of Livingston passed away June 27 from the Livingston Regional Hospital. Private Graveside services were held July 2 at the Overton County Memorial Gardens. Bro. Danny Staggs and Rev. James Shenko officiated.

She was born in Overton County on June 12, 1938. She enjoyed going to yard sales, talking to people and meeting new friends. She was a good storyteller and enjoyed working in her flower garden.

She was preceded in death by parents, John R. and Veo Hogue Johnson; husband, Willard McCormick; brothers, Wayne Johnson and Carl Johnson; infant brothers, Wade and Lewis Johnson and sister, Allie McDonald.

She is survived by daughters, Angela Jones and husband, Peter of Raywick, Ky., Vickie White of Livingston and Beth Geary and husband, Mark of Livingston; son, William McCormick and wife, Meloni of Galloway, Ohio; grandchildren, Lacey and Cassie White and Alex, Max, and Sarah Geary; sister, Katherine Johnson; brother, Bob Johnson and wife, Ann of Warren, Mich.; several nieces and nephews.

Megan Nikole Smith

Megan Nikole Smith, 23, of Livingston passed away June 27 in Ohio. Funeral services were held July 2 at the chapel of Hall Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Maxwell Chapel Cemetery in Hilham.

She was born in Lebanon on June 26, 1997. She worked as a dental assistant. She was loved by her family very much and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by step-grandfather, Bill Law.

She is survived by parents: father and step-mother, Bobby and Tammy Smith of Livingston, mother and step-father, Krishina and Tony Hamlet of Gainesboro; sisters, Kimberly Walker of Cookeville, Brittany Walker of Livingston, Ashley Waldon and husband, Allan of Rickman and Krysten Paige McCathran of Gainesboro; grandmothers, Kathy Hollars of Crossville and Judy Law- Riddleton; grandfather, Larry Pryor; step-grandmother, Alice Pryor; great-grandmother, Ovell Penningston; niece, Bryleigh Walker; nephews: Brayden Walker, Jordan Dibrell and Jayden Walker; four uncles, aunt, two cousins and six second cousins.

Kay Frances

Sherrill

Kay Frances Sherrill, 80, of Livingston passed away June 30. Private services will be held at a later date.

She was born in Overton County on Dec. 12, 1939. She was a 1957 graduate of Livingston Academy.

She was preceded in death by parents, Fred and Katie Garrett Smith and husband, James Wade Sherrill.

Rosie A. Murray

Rosie A. Murray, 66, of Cookeville passed away June 22 from Signature Health and Rehabilitation of Putnam County. Funeral services were held June 26 at the chapel of Hall Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Harris Chapel Cemetery. Bro. Steven Looper officiated.

She was born in Livingston on March 26, 1954. She was a member of the Hope in Christ Fellowship Church in Monterey. She loved her family very much and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by parents, John Ed and Alice (Presley) Wilson.

She is survived by son, Billy Murray; daughter, Tammy Brewer and her husband, Keith; grandchildren, Zachary and Zoe Brewer; brothers, Willie Wilson, James Wilson, Fred Wilson and Donald Wilson and sister, Edith Allen.
