Aldermen Approve Lower Tax Increase

The Town of Livingston Board of Mayor and Aldermen met last night and approved the second reading of the 2020-2021 budget with a 20-cent property tax increase on its second and final reading.

As previously reported in the Livingston Enterprise, the first reading of the budget had insisted on a 25-cent tax hike—with 80% of revenue made earmarked for city street paving.

The new amended budget is calling for a 20-cent tax hike, with 14-cents out of every 20 earmarked for city street paving.
