Veterans Will Start Meeting Again

The Overton County Veterans Board met last Wednesday in their regularly scheduled quarterly meeting and discussed the slow traffic through the Veterans Service Office due to offices being closed because of COVID-19.

Overton County Veterans Services Officer Chris Barlow explained to the board that because of the offices being closed in the Overton County Courthouse Annex, very few veterans sought services throughout the shutdown.

“It is normally up to 200 or more interactions per quarter,” Barlow said. “For nearly a month straight we locked the doors, so that really limited on what veterans came in.”
