The Overton County Board of Education met last Thursday and discussed three options for the new stadium as well as options for a return to school for the students and faculty.
As previously reported in the Livingston Enterprise, the board approved a $4.3 million budget for the renovation of the football stadium; however, all options presented to the board have come in over that budget.
The first option shown was a football field and soccer field combined at what is known as the Mason’s property, which would be an estimated cost of $6.7 million, excluding the land costs. For this option, approximately 6.5 acres would need to be purchased.
According to Don Collins with TTL Engineering, the first option would allow for the field, seating, a plaza area, home and visitor locker rooms, bus parking, parking for coaches and game officials and handicapped parking.
