William Myers

Eldridge

William “Bill” Myers Eldridge, 93, of Dayton, Ohio and formerly of Overton County passed away June 7 at the Brighton Assisted Living Facility. Funeral services were held June 12 at the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Overton County Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the Overton County Veterans Honor Guard.

He was born on Sept. 21, 1926 in Livingston. He worked at Delco Products in Dayton, Ohio for 30 years until he retired in 1977. He was a World War II veteran and a Master Mason for over 65 years with Solar Lodge #730. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton and life member of the Milton Athletic Club. He loved fishing, hunting, and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by parents, Joe Wheeler and Etta (Bilbrey) Eldridge; wife, Jessie Eldridge; brothers, Oscar (Ruby), Gradon (Auda), Charles (Amy) and R.D. Eldridge, and daughter-in-law, Kathleen Eldridge.

He is survived by sons, Joe David of Dayton, Ohio, and Floyd Dale (Erin) Eldridge of Lebanon, Ohio; grandchildren, David (Rebecca) Eldridge, Stephen (Rachel) Eldridge, Lisa (Benito) Torres (Eldridge), Patrick (Hannah) Eldridge and Kevin (Abby) Eldridge; great-grandchildren, Scarlett, Miriam, William, Solomon, Keegan, Persephone, Donovan, Gwendolyn, Eleanor, Jack, Nora and Amelia; sister-in-law, Colleen Eldridge; numerous nieces and nephews and longtime friend and caretaker, Gerry Kondrath.

Tony Ross Long

Tony Ross Long, 70, of Cookeville passed away June 6 from the Tristar Southern Hills Hospital in Nashville. Celebration of Life services were held June 10 at the Barn at Bilbrey’s Crossing. Bro. Kenny Walker officiated.

He was born in Cookeville on March 17, 1950. He was a 1968 graduate of Cookeville High School. He enjoyed fishing and repairing furniture.

He truly loved life and he always had a good time no matter what he was doing.

He was preceded in death by parents, Herman Ray and Docia Dimple Watson Long; sister, Joe Nelson; brother, Larry Long and wife, Sylvia Long.

He is survived by son, Russell Long and wife, Robin of Rickman; daughters, Tonya Harvey and Ronda Hale of Nashville; step-son, Jay Tabor of Paducah, Ky.; grandchildren, Gracie Harvey, Jalyssa Hale, Savannah Cowen, Zakiya Cullom, Rheachel Long and Jordan Murphy; brothers, Steve Long, Tommy Long, Billy Long and Perry Long and sister, Bonnie Long.

Speck Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Leon Flatt

Leon Flatt, 93, of Livingston passed away June 13 from his residence. Funeral services will be held June 19 at the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Campground Cemetery, with Military Honors provided at graveside by the Overton County Veterans Honor Guard. Bro. Jon Ledbetter and Bro. Henry Colbert will officiate.

He was born in Jackson County on April 22, 1927. He worked for 45 years for the General Motors Company. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, sports, farming, raising cattle and chickens. He enjoyed listening to Hank Williams, Sr., Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn.

He was preceded in death by parents, Wesley G. and Minnie Ray Brown Flatt; brothers, Rudolph, Dewayne and Roy Joe Flatt; sisters, Jewel Ledbetter, Goldia Buck, Pearl Roberts, Velsie Jackson and Ruby Dickerson.

He is survived by wife, Reba Ann Gore Flatt, of Livingston; son, Dale Flatt and wife, Lydia of Livingston; daughter, Maleah Mitchell and husband, Col. Mark Mitchell of Ft. Stewart, Ga.; grandchildren, Wesley Flatt, Daniel Flatt and wife, Halie, Cassandra Mitchell, Caleb Mitchell and 2nd LT. Olivia Mitchell and great-grandson, Brayden Mitchell-Kniffen.

Pallbearers who will serve are Cassandra Mitchell, Wesley Flatt, Caleb Mitchell, Olivia Mitchell, Daniel Flatt and Brayden Mitchell-Kniffen.

Robert Ian Tennant

Robert Ian Tennant, 40, of Bunker Hill, Ind. passed away May 31 at the Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne, Ind. Celebration of Life services were held on June 13 at the Livingston Chamber of Commerce. Bro. Mark Ogletree officiated.

He was born in Westminster, Calif. on Feb. 28, 1980. He worked as a plumber. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Robert E. and wife Beverly Tennant and Russell and IlaMae (Hugginess) Hope.

He is survived by son, Joshua Livingston; daughters, Christine and Paige Tennant; parents, Robert David and Linda Hope Tennant; sister, Robin Martinez and her husband, Ben and a host of relatives and friends.

Hall Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
