Roy Roger Mabrey

Roy Roger Mabrey, 79, of Rickman passed away Sept. 6 from his residence. Funeral services were held Sept. 8 at the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Interment followed at the Zion Hill Cemetery. Bro. James Williams officiated.

He was born in Clay County on Jan. 21, 1940. He loved fishing, tending to his garden, dancing, ginseng hunting, singing, riding motorcycles and good food and friendship,

He was preceded in death by parents, Roy and Mable Irene Maxfield Mabrey; wife Betty Marie Williamson Mabrey and sister, Josephine Copeland.

He is survived by son, Roger Allen Mabrey and wife, Anna of Willow Grove; daughters, Debie Marie Taylor and husband, Wayne of Willow Grove, Linda Irene Fox and husband, Roger of Cookeville, Teresa Beth Randolph and husband, Bill of Cookeville and Cheryl Lynn Hooten and husband, Eddie of Celina; grandchildren, Jenny Taylor, Jessie Taylor, Jeremy Dennis, Michelle Mabrey, Stacey Bradford, Ashley Coffman, Brandon Fox, Wesley Fox, Nikki Fox, Zeb Randolph, Grayson Randolph, Silas Randolph and Michael Copeland; significant other, Mary Cowan; 18 great-grandchildren; brother, James “Jimmy” Mabrey and sisters, Betty White, Pam Huddleston, Isabella Miller, Sandra Copeland and husband, Gordon and Sharon Paul and husband, Robert.

Minnie Mae Buck

Minnie Mae Pennington Buck, 97, of Livingston passed away on Sept. 5 from Bethesda Healthcare Center in Cookeville. Funeral services were held Sept. 8 at the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church. Interment followed in the Concord Cemetery. Bro. Randy Lowe and Bro. Danny McDonald officiated.

She was born in Overton County on Jan. 15, 1922. She was a charter member of the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church. She loved going to church, taking about the Lord and taking care of her family.

She was preceded in death by parents, Samuel and Della Brown Pennington; husband, Guy Buck; daughter, Sue Buck; granddaughter, Tena Whitaker; son-in-law, Collin Keith; daughter-in-law, Toshiko Buck; sisters, Wilma Collins, Willette Johnson, Maurine Upton, Christene Buck and Sylvia Davis; brothers, Marvin Penningston. Wilburn Penningtson, Buster Penneingston, S.D. Pennington and James Pennington.

She is survived by daughters, Brenda Cranor and husband, Jon of Livingston, Kathy McDonald and husband, Danny of Allons and Lesa Keith of Tompkinsville, Ky.; sons, J.D. Buck and Sammy Buck and wife, Sherry al of Livingston; grandchildren, Gina Sasser, Becky Clayton, Sandra Allen, Jayson Ledbetter, Crystal Garrett, Beth Copeland, Amanda Coleman, Josh Buck, Jonathan Buck and Hannah D`Amico; 23 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren and special caregiver, Sheri Hollaway.

Pallbearers who served were Hadyn Allen, Nate Garrett, Josh Buck, Jonathan Buck, Brandon Clayton and Chad Slayton.

Livingston Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Michael Lee Thurman

Michael Lee Thurman, 58, of Livingston passed away on Sept. 7 from his residence. Funeral services will be held Sept. 14 at the First Christian Church of Livingston. Interment will follow in the Overton County Memorial Gardens.

He was born Sept. 8, 1960 in Tipton, Ind. He was a passionate musician and never turned down the chance to “pick” his guitar. He graduated form Livingston Academy in 1978 and worked as a lab technician at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Pearlie and Sam Thurman and Joe and Hauti Ledbetter and dog, Lucy.

He is survived by wife, Amy of Livingston; daughter, Morgan Thurman Hale and husband, Andrew of Knoxville; parents, Sammy Ezell and Bobbie Jean Thurman of Allons; brothers, Keith “Simon” Thurman and wife, Sherry of Cookeville and Sammy Kent “Kenny” Thurman of Nashville.

Pallbearers to serve are Ken Dodson, Barry Johnson, Dough Maynard, Scott McCormick, David Qualls and Frank Walters.

Honorary pallbearers are Simon Thurman, Kenny Thurman, Ronnie Thurman, Dillon Thurman, Blake Thurman and Parker Thurman.

Speck Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Stephanie Ann Ford

Stephanie Ann Ford, 43, of Livingston passed away Sept. 4 from the Livingston Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held Sept. 7 at the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Interment followed on the Overton County Memorial Gardens. Bro. Mark Neely officiated.

She was born in Overton County on May 16, 1976. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. She enjoyed the lake and being outdoors.

She was preceded in death by grandparents, Odis and Pauline Staggs and Ward and Eula Ledford.

She is survive by husband, Randy Ford of Livingston; son, Austin Ford and Agel Balowski of Livingston; daughter, Sway Ford of Livingston; grandson, Clay August Ford; parents, David and Geneva Staggs of Livingston; sister, Brandie Ledbetter and husband, Chris of Livingston; niece, Brittany Ledbetter and nephew, Lucas Ledbetter.

Pallbearers who served were Doug Neely, Chris Ledbetter, Mikey Poston, Scott Ford, Luke Staggs and Eli Peterson.

Bessie Elizabeth Sells

Bessie Elizabeth “Liz” Sells, 80, of Livingston passed away Aug. 25 at Signature Healthcare of Putnam County. Funeral services were held Aug. 28 at the chapel of Hall Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Old Bethel Cemetery. Bro. Teston Gilpatrick officiated.

She was born in Livingston on May 15, 1939. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by parents, Jewel and Dorothy Gore and husband, Henry Sells.

She is survived by daughter, Sherry Carter and husband, Doug; grandson, Lucas Carter and wife, Jessica; great-grandchildren, Madison and Grayson Carter; brother, Rocky Gore and wife, Brenda; sister, Joyce Bilbrey and husband, Jerry; special nieces, Crystal Romines and Cindy Mullins; special nephew, Ken Gore and a host of family and friends.

Pallbearers were Lucas Carter, Robert Holt, Billy Joe Gore and Derek Romines.

Anella Fern Bilbrey

Anella Fern Bilbrey, 84, of Livingston passed away on Aug. 27 at Signature Healthcare of Putnam County. Funeral Services were held Aug. 30 at the chapel of Hall Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Overton County Memorial Gardens. Bro. Harold Smith officiated.

She was born in Livingston on Jan. 9, 1935. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Livingston.

She was preceded in death by parents, Bonzie and Pozie (Gunnels) Williams and husband, Carmon Bilbrey.

She is survived by daughter, Lisa Meadows; son, Dale Bilbrey; grandson, John Mark Stephens; great-grandson, John Robert Stephens; niece, Pat Rich; nephews, Jeff and Jim Gunnels and a host of family and friends.

Scott Anthony Pimental

Scott Anthony Pimental, 54, of Putnam County passed away Aug. 23 in Murfreesboro. Funeral services were held Aug. 29 in the chapel of Hall Funeral Home. Tha family has chosen cremation after the service.

He was born in Fall River, Mass. on July 21, 1965. He was a wrecker driver.

He was preced in death by parents, Anthony Pimental and Judith Souza; sister, Cheryl Souza; father-in-law, George Silvia and mother-in-law, Alice Silvia.

He is survived by wife, Tracey Pimental; sons, Steven Pimental, Ryan Pimental and Cody Pimental; daughter-in-law, Chantelle Foley; father, John Souza; sisters, Charlen Souza and Kim Souza; grandchildren, Evan Giblin, Landon Pimental, Skyla Pimental, Leah Pimental, Zachary Pimental and Logan Pimental and a host of family and friends.
