Sullivan Family Reunion

The Annual Sullivan Family Reunion will be Sat., Aug. 17 at Campground near Hilham. Arrive anytime during the morning and plan to eat around noon. Bring a covered dish and enjoy the day.

“Welcome To Medicare” Class

The State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) is conducting a free “Welcome to Medicare” presentation at the Millard Oakley Library in Livingston on Sept. 18 from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. The class will consist of training on Parts A, B, C & D, as well as Medigap policies and ways to prevent Medicare fraud. SHIP is a federally funded program administered through the Area Agency on Aging & Disability. Please call SHIP at 931-432-4150 to reserve a seat.

Controlling Feral Hogs on Farms and Woodlands

Overton Extension and the USDA will be hosting a class on feral hog control Thursday, Aug. 15 at 6 p.m. at the Joe L. Evins Community Center. The class will discuss the damage hogs do to farms and forest, and also the diseases they carry and transmit. Also, the class will focus on controlling methods. A USDA representative will be on hand to discuss the free service now available to assist landowners in feral hog removal. Model T Club Road Show

150 Model T cars will be driving through to Livingston Central Park on Monday, Aug. 19 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m.

Board of Education Meeting

The Overton County Board of Education will meet in regular session Tuesday, Aug. 20 at the Central Office. Meeting will begin at 6:30 and the Work Session immediately following.
