Dormal Newberry, age 92 of Johns Creek, Ga. passed away peacefully on April 21, 2019 and was welcome to Heaven by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Dormal was born on March 8, 1927 in the small town of Monroe in Overton County, TN. He was a graduate of Livingston High School in Livingston, TN; enlisted in the Army and served as a Sergeant in the Constabulary Forces in Germany during World War II.
Upon returning home, he enrolled in the University of TN at Knoxville and graduated with a BS in Dairy Production and Masters in Agricultural Economics. Dormal served over 40 years with the United States Department of Agriculture, Dairy Division, Agricultural Marketing Services. He completed his service as Milk Market Administrator for the southeast region in 1990.
He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Catherine Newberry; three children Jim Newberry of Cedar City, Utah; Janet (Andy) Williams of Johns Creek, Ga.; and Jennifer Weeks of Johns Creek, Ga.; two step-children Paul (Martha) Giza of Peoria, Ariz. and Anne Giza of Traverse City, Mich. His previous spouse, Blanche Greene preceded him in death in 1984.
A great joy to him were their eight grandchildren: Matthew Weeks, Rachael (Josh) Moreland, Leah (Ricardo) Laborin, Anna Newberry, Kyle Williams, Marguartite (Thomas) Ingram, Sarah Kate Weeks, and Zach Williams. He was blessed to know two great-grandsons Wyatt and David Ingram and one great-granddaughter Emma Moreland.
Dormal was an active member of First Redeemer Church and the Christian Friends Sunday School Class.
Visitation was held at Crowell Brothers Funeral Home, on Thursday, April 25. Celebration of life took place after Visitation. Interment was at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs Atlanta, Ga..

Juanita E. Smith
Juanita E. Smith, 82, of Muncie, Ind. passed away on May 2, 2019, at her residence. Funeral Services were held May 7 at Elm Ridge Funeral Home. Pastor Glenn Greiner officiated. Entombment followed at Elm Ridge Memorial Park.
She was born on Feb. 7, 1937, in Livingston, Tenn. She moved to the Muncie area in the 1950s. She was a hairdresser and had previously worked for Owens-Illinois, Westinghouse, and the Delaware County Senior Center. Juanita attended Union Chapel Church and was very active with the seniors, was part of the M&Ms, greeting at church and enjoyed participating in small groups. She also enjoyed painting, drawing, photography, planting flowers, bowling, bird watching, decorating, and spending time with her family. Juanita loved basketball, and especially her faithful companion, her beloved dog, Jack.
She was preceded in death by parents; Arnold and Alta Agnes (Sells) Smith; brothers, Ray, Charles, and Ralph Smith; sisters, Christine Daniels, Inogene Smith, and Ruth Kennedy; and her daughter, Diann Pennington-Moncrief.
She is survived by daughter, Vickie (Joe) Pennington-Pedi, N.Y.; grandchildren, Dawn Ray, Muncie, Ind.; Alta (John) Clary, N.Y.; Josh Mardis, N.Y.; Helen (Colin) Nelsen, N.Y.; Daryl (Cathy) Nelsen, N.Y., and Erik (Bernice) Nelsen, N.Y.; great-grandchildren, Victoria Clary, N.Y.; Leila Ray, Ind.; Cooper Clary, Mia Cheyne, Harrison Mardis, Levi Cheyne, Lily Cheyne, Elliot Sullivan, and Scarlett Sullivan, all of N.Y.; sisters, Francis Smith and Clarice Stover, Livingston; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
