Annual Rabies Vaccination Clinic Slated

The Overton County Health Department announces the annual rabies vaccination clinic. The vaccine will be a one-year vaccine for a small fee. The dates are as follows: On Wednesday April 17, the Alpine Fire Department will hold a clinic from 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m; Hanging Limb Park will hold a clinic from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.; Hardy’s Chapel Community Center will hold a clinic from 11:30 a.m. to noon; Hilham General Store will hold a clinic from 1:15 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.; Precision Auction (old Knuckles) will hold a clinic from 2:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.; and Triple D Grocery will hold a clinic from 3:15 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. On Saturday, April 20, the VCA Ragland and Riley Animal Hospital will hold a clinic from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. On Thursday, April 25, the Overton County Health Department will hold a clinic from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

LA Band 5K Run To Be Held

The LA Band is presenting a 5K Run on Saturday, April 20 at 6 a.m. The run starts at Livingston Academy High School. The fun run is for all children the age of 5 and under. Benefit/Auction To Be Held

A benefit auction/cakewalk/ silent auction for Donna Kay (Franklin) Regan is to be held to help pay for medical and travel expenses. The benefit is to be held at the Overton County Fairgrounds on April 20. BBQ Plates at 4 p.m. Auction Starts at 5 p.m. Raffle tickets also available.

Parent-Child Connect Class To Be Held

The Stephens Center will begin its Parent Child Connection (PCC) parents’ support group Spring 2019, Series II. Sessions are held at The Stevens Center located at 616 North Church Street in Livingston on Wednesdays from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Certificates will be awarded to parents attending eight sessions within this series. There is no charge for PCC sessions. Everyone welcome. For more information call 823-6432. On April 24, a “Morals and Values” course is to be held.

Health Fair To Be Held

The Livingston Seventh Day Adventist Fellowship located on 4130 Bradford Hicks Drive in Livingston is to hold a Health Fair on Sunday, April 28 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Free blood pressure, free glucose test, free snacks and free admission.

“Welcome to Medicare” Class To Be Held

Are you turning 65 soon and confused about Medicare benefits and choices? The State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) is conducting a free “Welcome to Medicare” presentation at the Millard Oakley Library in Livingston on May 14, 2019 from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. The class will consist of training on Parts A, B, C and D, as well as Medigap policies and ways to prevent Medicare fraud. SHIP is a federally funded program administered through the Area Agency on Aging and Disability. Please call SHIP at 931-432-4150 to reserve a seat.

SCV To Meet

Sons of Confederate Veterans, Myers-Zollicoffer Camp 1990 is to meet at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 18 at VFW Post 5062 located on Henson Street in Livingston. Doors to open at 6 p.m. For more info, call (931) 783-3767.

Lane Construction Work To Halt For Easter

The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) will suspend all interstate construction work this Easter weekend in anticipation of increased holiday travel. TDOT crews and contractors will stop all road construction work that requires lane closures beginning Thursday, April 18 at 6:00 p.m. through Monday, April 22 at 6:00 a.m. This will provide maximum roadway capacity to motorists expected to travel across the state this holiday weekend.
