Solid Waste Survey Hits Mark

In their first meeting for the calendar year, the Overton County Solid Waste Committee found a “golden goose” in their review of the 2018 annual solid waste progress report on Tuesday, as their recycling numbers well-exceed the state requirement.

The state requires that Overton County show in a survey that they did not take 25 percent of the waste that they generated to the landfill, but counties can have difficulties hitting the mark when it comes to recycling.
