Audrey May Riley Tompkins Riser, 87 of Byrdstown, passed away on Jan. 22 from the Pickett County Health and Rehab. Graveside services were held on Jan. 25 from the Love Lady Sims Cemetery in Byrdstown. Bro. Randy Tompkins officiated. Speck Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
She was born in Pickett County on Sept. 22, 1931. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Byrdstown. She taught school for many years in Davidson County. She enjoyed working and had a strong work ethic. She loved her children and grandchildren tremendously. She always encouraged people to try hard and do better in all they did.
She was preceded in death by parents, Webster and Maggie Melton Riley; first husband and father of her children, Daniel Tompkins; second husband, Roy Riser; twin sons, Danny and Donnie Tompkins; and brother, Marvin Riley.
She is survived by sons, Doug Tompkins and wife Mary, of Byrdstown and Greg Tompkins and wife, Debbie of Burkesville, Ky.; daughter, Gina Tompkins Billings of Cookeville; grandchildren, Sarah, Christa, Miranda, Amanda, Matthew and Emily; six great-grandchildren; and brother, Frank Riley and wife, Sue of Muncie, Ind.
Edna Harris Bilbrey, 84 of Livingston, passed away on Jan. 20 at her residence. Funeral services were held on Jan. 23 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Overton County Memorial Gardens.
She was born in Fentress County on July 27, 1934. She was Baptist in faith and worked for many years as a cook for the Overton County School System. She loved her family and cooking for them. She enjoyed going to the Cookeville Community Center and dancing and working on puzzle books.
She was preceded in death by parents, Jim and Edith Crisp Harris; husband, Billy G. Bilbrey; son, Kent Bilbrey; brothers, Edward, Hubert, Houston and Denton Harris; sisters, Opha Threet, Christene Jones and Chestolene Duncan.
She is survived by sons, Larry Bilbrey and wife, Jewell of Sparta, Roger Bilbrey and wife, Janie of Livingston and Mark Bilbrey and wife, Vickie of Cookeville; daughter, June Bilbrey of Livingston; brothers, Glen Harris and Gary Harris both of Jamestown; ten grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Debra Lynn Easterly
Debra Lynn Arney Easterly, 64 of Moss, passed away on Jan. 25 at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Celebration of Life services were held on Jan. 27 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.
She was born in Overton County on Oct. 20, 1954. She was a registered nurse and Baptist in faith. She loved her family dearly and was a caring mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by parents, Bobby Joe and Edith Lyndell Winningham Arney.
She is survived by daughter, Dr. Samantha McLerran and husband, Brian of Moss; son, Joseph Easterly of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Ella Grace, Brie and Cord McLerran, Ragan and Alex Easterly; step-mother, Linda Buford Arney of Livingston; brothers, David Arney and wife, Gail of Rickman and Sam Arney of Cookeville.
