Beginners Beekeeping Training Class To Be Held

A Beginners Beekeeping Training Class is to be held on Saturday, Feb. 2 at the Millard Oakley Public Library located on 107 E. Main Street in Livingston from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wayne Howell is to instruct the class. RSVP no later than Wednesday, Jan. 30 with name and phone number to [email protected] for supplies and food assurance. Lunch is provided. All students that attend and complete the class that wish to take part in the Hive Grant will be entered to receive one of three grants to be awarded.

Sponsor Applications Open For Summer Food Service Program

The Tennessee Department of Human Services (TDHS) will once again open the application process for organizations to participate in this year’s Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) on Friday, February 1, 2019. Applications will be accepted until May 1, 2019. If your organization is interested in becoming an SFSP sponsor or becoming a feeding site under an existing sponsor, please contact the TDHS by e-mail at [email protected]

AARP Tax-Aide Program To Assist Taxpayers

AARP Tax-Aide volunteers offer a free in-person tax preparation service to taxpayers of all ages and backgrounds. These volunteers are trained and Internal Revenue Service (IRS) certified each year to help with income tax filing. This service is available at the Overton County Senior Citizens Center located at 1513 Bradford Hicks Drive in Livingston each Wednesday, Feb. 6 through April. 10 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. Bring last year’s income tax return, government issue photo ID and Social Security cards for all individuals on the income tax return. American Legion Dance To Be Held

Bring a snack to share as the American Legion welcomes the Slick Nickel Band for an evening of and music at the American Legion Post in Livingston located at 121 S. Church Street on Saturday, Feb. 2 from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m. All dances are family friendly and open to the public. Membership is not necessary. Concessions are available.

Coffee With A Vet

To Be Held

Livingston’s American Legion Post 4 and Auxiliary Unit 4 along with VFW Post 5062 will be hosting “Coffee with a Veteran” at the VFW post located at 103 W. Henson Street in Livingston on Saturday, Feb. 2 from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. We are inviting the public and those who have served or who are currently serving in our armed forces to come and have coffee, conversation and enjoy the comradeship.

Legion And Auxiliary

To Meet

The Livingston American Legion and Auxiliary will meet on Tuesday, Feb. 5 at post headquarters located at 121 S. Church Street. The Auxiliary will meet at 5:30 p.m., and the Legion will meet at 6 p.m.

Parent-Child Connection Classes To Be Held

A Stephens Center’s Parent-Child Connection (PCC) “My Way Or The Highway” session is to be held on Wednesday, Feb. 6 at the Stephens Center located at 616 North Church Street in Livingston from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Certificates will be awarded to parents attending eight sessions within this series. There is no charge for PCC sessions.

To Host Singing

A Special Singing by Gore Family and others with preaching by Bro. Randy Bilbrey is to be held on Sunday, Feb. 3 beginning at 10 am. Bro. Jerry Harris and congregation extend cordial invitation for all to attend. The church is located at 1047 Fredonia Road in Livingston.
