Parent-Child Connection Classes To Be Held
A Stephens Center’s Parent-Child Connection (PCC) “Alternatives To Spanking, Hitting and Yelling” session is to be held on Wednesday, Jan. 30 at the Stephens Center located at 616 North Church Street in Livingston from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Certificates will be awarded to parents attending eight sessions within this series. There is no charge for PCC sessions.
Vets Can Ride For Free
The Regional Transportation Authority of Middle Tennessee (RTA) Board of Directors has given approval for an extension of last year’s Vets for the Holidays program so that military veterans can ride RTA commuter bus services and the Music City Star commuter train for free. To qualify, participants need only show a valid form of military veteran identification to the RTA bus operator or Music City Star train conductor. Forms of identification that will be accepted are: DD Form 2 (Retired United States Uniformed Services Identification Card), Tennessee Driver’s License or Identification Card with “Veteran” designation on front, VA Health Benefits Identification Card and DD214 form in lieu of a Veteran’s identification card. The monthly meeting of the L.B.J. & C. Head Start Policy Council has been scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 5 beginning at 6 p.m. The meeting will be held at the L.B.J. & C. Development Corporation, 1150 Chocolate Drive, Cookeville, Tennessee.
County Commission To Meet
The Overton County Commission will be in regular session on Monday, Feb. 11 at 6 p.m. at the Overton County Courthouse.
Livingston National Guard Reunion To Be Held
There will be a reunion for the members and former members of the Livingston National Guard Unit at the National Guard Armory in Livingston on Saturday, Feb. 16 beginning at 6 p.m. This will be a covered dish dinner. Come join us for an evening of great food, fun and fellowship with old friends.
American Legion Dance To Be Held
The American Legion welcomes the 1 Eyd Dawg Band for an evening of and music at the American Legion Post in Livingston located at 121 S. Church Street on Saturday, Jan. 26 from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m. All dances are family friendly and open to the public, membership not necessary. Concessions are available.
