Convenience Centers To Close
All convenience centers will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 1 in observance of New Years Day.
Garbage Routes To Temporarily Change
Garbage routes in the Town of Livingston will temporarily change in order for the City to observe New Year’s Day. Trash will not be picked up Jan. 1. Tuesday’s route will be picked up on Wednesday, Jan. 2.
Blood Drive To Be Held
The American Red Cross is to be held at the Livingston Regional Hospital located at 315 Oak Street in Livingston on Dec. 26 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
TDOT To Halt Lane Closures
The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) is once again halting all lane closure activity on interstates and state highways in anticipation of higher traffic volumes across the state. No temporary lane closures will be allowed for construction on Tennessee roadways beginning at 12 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21 until 6 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019.
American Legion Dance To Be Held
Bring a snack to share and join the fun on Saturday, Dec. 29 as the American Legion welcomes back the Take 5 Band for our New Year’s Dance. The band will be performing from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m. at the American Legion Post in Livingston located at 121 S. Church St. All dances are family friendly and open to the public, and a membership is not necessary. Concessions are available.
American Legion And Auxiliary Meetings To Halt
The Livingston American Legion and Auxiliary will not meet in January due to the holiday. Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, Feb. 5 at post headquarters located at 121 S. Church St. The Auxiliary will meet at 5:30 p.m. and the Legion will meet at 6 p.m.
Parent-Child Connection Classes To Be Held
The Stephens Center’s Parent-Child Connection (PCC) support group sessions are held at the Stephens Center, located at 616 North Church Street in Livingston on Wednesdays from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Certificates will be awarded to parents attending eight sessions within this series. There is no charge for PCC sessions. On Jan. 2, an orientation (Assessing Nurturing Skills) class is to be held. On Jan. 16, a Why Parents Spank class is to be held. On Jan. 23, a Doing This For Your Own Good class is to be held. On Jan. 30, an Alternatives To Spanking, Hitting And Yelling class is to be held. On Feb. 6, a Coping With Stress class is to be held. On Feb. 20, a Supporting Your Partner class is to be held. On Feb. 27, a Self-Esteem class is to be held. On March 6, a Make-Up Session is to be held.
