A trip up Highway 52 on Friday night found the Livingston Academy Wildcats in Sumner County to take on the Eagles of Westmoreland.
The Wildcats led the all-time series with the Eagles at three wins and no defeats. Livingston Academy went into the game with a 4-3 record and the Westmoreland Eagles came in at 5-2. The Eagles won the toss and elected to let the Wildcats have the football first. With 8:51 to go in the first quarter, L.A. quarterback Will McDonald hit wide receiver Wesley Smith wit ha 54-yard touchdown strike. The extra point by Tee Beaty gave the Wildcats a 7-0 lead. With the next possession, the Eagles mounted a drive that ended at 6:06 to go in the first quarter as Wildcat Will Sims intercepted Eagle quarterback Ryker Hodge. The first quarter ended at 7-0 in favor of the Wildcats.
