Voenado Taylor

Voenado Stover Taylor, 90 of Livingston, passed away on Oct. 6 from the Dogwood Cottages in Livingston. Funeral services were held on Oct. 8 from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home. Bro. Keith Emrich officiated. Interment followed in the Nelson Cemetery.

She was born in Pickett County on July 17, 1928. She loved making a garden. She loved her family very much and people, especially children. She was known for her beautiful smile and her wonderful laugh.

She was preceded in death by parents, Arland and Iva Lee Taylor Stover; husband, O.D. Taylor; son, Charles Taylor; grandson, Jerry Taylor; sister, Jean Taylor; and brothers, Ester and Eugene Stover.

She is survived by daughter, Brenda King and husband, Jim of Monroe; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Stacy Herd, Nathan Herd, Jason King, Doug Taylor, Wayne Sells and Tyler Sells.

 

Vera Turner

Vera York Turner, 97 of Livingston, passed away on Oct. 6 from the Overton County Health and Rehab Center. Funeral services were held on Oct. 8 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Bro. Rick Cross officiated. Interment followed in the Hilham Cemetery.

She was born in Macon County on Sept. 22, 1921.She was a member of the Gamaliel Baptist Church. She loved to play bingo and checkers. Her favorite dessert was Moon Pies. Her favorite joy was her family.

She was preceded in death by parents, William W. York and Minnie Raines York; husband, Johnny Turner; eight brothers; and three sisters.

She is survived by daughters, Janice Chapman of Tompkinsville, Ky., Linda Overstreet and husband, Floyd of Lafayette, and Loretta Raines and husband, Milton of Hilham; sons, Edward Turner and wife, Lola of Lafayette and Steve Turner and wife, Janice of Lafayette; sister, Eva Moore of Lafayette; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and six great great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Chad Raines, Jason Kirby, Kyle Turner, Jimmy Reecer, Billy Schepke, Zach Raines, Randy Rost, Bryan Kirby and Jarrett Kirby.

 

James R. Stewart

James Robert “Dick” Stewart, 66 of Livingston, passed away on Oct. 3. Funeral services were held on Oct. 6 from the chapel of the Hall Funeral Home. Bro. Nolan Cantrell officiated. Interment followed in the Mount Gilead Cemetery.

He was born in Livingston on May 8, 1952. He was a supervisor for a pallet company.

He was preceded in death by parents, James H. and Birtha (Greenwood) Stewart; sister, Debbie Cox; brother: Fowler Stewart; and brother- in-law, James Greenwood.

He is survived by daughter, Amber Jones and husband, Jeremy; grandson, Cameron Jones; brother, Paul Stewart; sisters, Brenda Greenwood, Sue Ann Stewart and husband, William Emerton and Charlotte Laycock and husband, Gary; special friend, Crystal Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

 

Diana L. Hoffmann

Factory Worker

Diana L. Hoffmann, 63 of Murfreesboro, passed away on Sept. 29 at her residence. Funeral services were held on Oct. 3 from the chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Livingston. Interment followed in the Phillips Cemetery.

She was born in Monterey on April 3, 1955. She worked in a factory doing electrical work.

She was preceded in death by parents, Judy Bowman and Austin Looper; and brothers, Larry David Looper, Ricky Wayne Looper and Michael Looper; and son, Jason Hoffmann.

She is survived by sisters, Angela Blair of Nashville and Lisa Brewer of Murfreesboro; brothers, Timmy Looper of Monterey, Bobby Looper of Monterey and Jesse Looper of Monterey; and a host of other family and friends.

 

Ricky M. White

Ricky M. White, 56 of Livingston, passed away at his residence on Oct. 1. Funeral services were held on Oct. 5 from the chapel of the Hall Funeral Home. Bro. Timmy Ray officiated. Interment followed in the Overton County Memorial Gardens.

He was born in Livingston on May 12, 1962.

He was preceded in death by parents, Don and Cassie Pauline Cantrell White; brothers, Donald White, J. V. White, Randall White, Loyd White and Billy White; and sister, Patricia Hicks.

He is survived by son, Chad White and wife, Ashton; daughter, Breinna Baker and husband, Josh; grandchildren: Mason, Shelby, Memphis and Kambrie; brothers, Ralph White, Johnny White and Danny White; and sister, Brenda Laycock,

Pallbearers were Danny White, Jackie “Dink” Watkins, Jimmy James, Johnny Harris, Terry Coleman and Charlie Garrett.

Brenda G. Laycock, 60 of Livingston, passed away on Oct. 5 at the Livingston Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held on Oct. 8 from the chapel of the Hall Funeral Home. Bro. Jerry Buck officiated. Interment followed in the Overton County Memorial Gardens.

She was born in Livingston on March 9, 1958. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse.

She was preceded in death by parents, Don and Cassie Pauline Cantrell White; brother, Donald White, J.V. White, Randall White, Loyd White, Billy White and Ricky M. White; sister, Patricia Hicks.

She is survived by husband, Ricky Laycock; son, Jeremiah Laycock; brothers, Ralph White, Johnny White and Danny White; and a host of family and friends.

Pallbearers were Ricky Laycock, Jeremiah Laycock, Kyle Spears, Jimmy White, Chad White and Kendal Melton.

Honorary pallbearers were Ralph White, Johnny White, Danny White and Tommy Walker.
