Judge Is Set To Consider Closing Of East Fork Lane

Progression has been made toward the chancery court ruling to determine whether East Fork Lane Road is a public or private roadway, as the Overton County Government recently petitioned for a declaratory judgment on the matter.

While a court ruling must first be made to determine whether the two respondents listed on the petition are to be temporarily restrained by court order from blocking the roadway by the use of gates or other obstruction until a final decision is ruled on whether the road is public or private property, it appears from court records that the Overton County Government is in support of East Fork Lane being ruled a public road and for public “use and enjoyment.”
