Addie Ova Barlow
Addie Ova Barlow, 92 of Cookeville and formerly of Hilham, passed away on July 27 from the comfort of her home. Funeral services were held on July 31 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Bro. Myran Greer officiated. Interment followed in the Lynn Cemetery in Jackson County.
She was born in Jackson County on Feb. 20, 1926. She loved her children and grandchildren dearly, enjoyed word search puzzles, spent time quilting and kept a beautiful flower garden.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Titus Hammock and Louisa Greenwood; husband, Leonard Barlow; six brothers; and four sisters.
She is survived by her daughters, Janice Roberson and husband, David of Cookeville and Joyce Ward and husband, Jack of Livingston; grandchildren, Shane Barlow, John Robert Ward and Joshua Roberson; great grandchildren, Cody Matthews, Tinsley Ward, Christian Ward, Ian Ward and Layke Ward; and special caregiver, Linda Greer.
Delberta Roberts, 74, passed away on July 26 in Chattanooga. Funeral services were held on July 29 at Hatcher Hall Christian Church. Bro. Hillier Duke officiated. Interment followed in the Hatcher Hall Cemetery. Speck Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
She was born in Overton County on March 3, 1944. She enjoyed spending time with her family, socializing with friends at the dance, playing with her dog Angel, tending her garden and watching hummingbirds.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Alice Hicks Norris; brother, Eugene Norris; and sister, Beatrice Smith.
She is survived by her son, Eddie Roberts; son’s father, Ronald Roberts of Monroe; grandson, Brandon Roberts and wife, Hannah of Cookeville; great grandson, Lawson Roberts of Cookeville; brothers, Tom Norris and Danny Norris of Alpine and Ronnie Norris and wife, Sue of White Plains; and sister, Pam Clark and husband, Jay of Atlanta, Ga.
Georgie B. Boles
Georgie B. “George” Boles, 83 of Hilham, passed away on July 24 in Mt. Juliet. Graveside services were held on July 28 at Maxwell Chapel Cemetery in Hilham. Speck Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
He was born in Clay County on April 10, 1935. He enjoyed working on his cattle farm and whittling.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Simpson and Eppie Hawkins Boles; wife, Alice Lurene Boles; son, Edwin Boles; daughter, Diane Boles; brother, Clyde Boles; and sisters, Lola Sullivan and Lilian Grossi.
He is survived by his granddaughter, Ashley Cook of Lebanon; grandson, Jason Boles of Clarksville; and brother, Rex Boles of McMinnville.
Ralph Dennis Stamps, 70 of Monterey, passed away on July 24 at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. No services are planned. Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
He was born in Putnam County on Jan. 24, 1948. He worked on offshore oilrigs prior to retirement. He was a jack-of-all-trades. He was a CB enthusiast and went by the handle Budweiser.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorton and Zula White Stamps; brothers, Jimmy, Cecil, Danny, Donnie, Earl and Sonny Stamps; and sisters, Doris Simmons, Mary Gay and Inez McCormick.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Betty Cooper Stamps; sons, TJ Stamps, Little Ralph Stamps, Savage Stamps and J.W. (Betty) Stamps; daughters, Tina Stamps, Myra (Brian) Lane and Mariah Payne; brother, Harvey Stamps; sister, Wilma (Peter) Templeton; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Wanda Sue Crabtree
Wanda Sue Crabtree, 61 of Livingston, and formally of Muncie, Ind. passed away on July 23 at her residence. Funeral services were held in Muncie, Ind. on July 26 from the Parson Mortuary. Interment followed in the Tomlinson Cemetery in Muncie, Ind. Hall Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
She was born in Muncie, Delaware County, Ind. on. Dec. 2, 1957. She worked at Parker Seal in Livingston.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Oscar and Francis (Muncey) Hinds; brother, Tony Hinds; sister, Laura Mae Cecil.
She is survived by her son, Robert Hinds and his wife, Sherryl; grandson, Mason Hinds; granddaughter, Aliviah Lord; brothers: Dean Hinds and Lonnie Hinds.
Lesa Ann Colton
Lesa Ann Colton, 55 of Livingston, passed away on July 5 at her residence. A Memorial was held on July 9 from the chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Livingston. Bro. David Brown officiated. The family has chosen cremation.
She was born in Livingston on March 19, 1963. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Delon Smith and Margie Peacy; and brother, James K. Smith.
She is survived by her son, Steven Fann; daughter, Paige Dyer; sister, Linda C. Smith; grandchildren, Jaylen Dyer, William Dyer, Brittany Dyer, Haley Dyer, Kathy Dyer, Bella Fann, Devin Fann, Lexie Porter, Blake Porter and Timmy Snoddy; great grandchildren: Levi Helton and Sophia Snoddy; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
