Central Park In The Dark To Be Held

The Central Park in the Dark summer movie series will have a showing of Star Wars: The Last Jedi on July 27 at dark in Central Park at 140 S. Spring Street. If in the case of rain, the program is to be rescheduled. Bring a blanket/lawn chair and wait a great movie. Fun for the whole family.

Overton County Fair To Be Held

The 80th Annual Overton County Fair is to be held from July 19-29 at the Overton County fairgrounds at 608 Monterey Highway. The time varies each day. Overton County UCHRA To Provide Energy Assistance Funds

The Upper Cumberland Human Resource Agency (UCHRA) would like to announce that once again it is time to sign up for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). This program is federally funded and is used to assist those in need whose household income is 150 percent or less of poverty guidelines, to help pay their energy bills in Overton County. If you are interested in applying or would like more information on program guidelines, contact the Overton County UCHRA office between the hours of 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. Chili Challenge Cook-Off To Be Held

The sixth annual Chili Challenge Cook-Off fundraiser is to be held on Sept. 28 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Livingston Central Park. Proceeds are to benefit local non-profit Teen Challenge of the Upper Cumberland. Local businesses and groups can sign up as a competitor in the chili cook off by calling 888-688-0470, ext 104 or by emailing danielle@teenchallengeuc.org

Fish Fry To Be Held

The Green Pond Lodge is to hold a fish fry with live music at the Green Pond Masonic Lodge 703 on Saturday, July 28 at 4 p.m. For information, call Eric Stephens at 931-445-4140.

American Legion Dance To Be Held

Livingston’s American Legion Post 4 and Auxiliary Unit 4 along with the Take 5 Band. We’re having a dance to celebrate our newly added air conditioning on Saturday, July 28th, 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the American Legion located at 121 South Church St., Livingston. All dances are family friendly.

Overton County Commission Meeting To Be Held

The Overton County Commission will meet in regular session on Monday, August 13 at 6 p.m. at the Overton County Courthouse.

First Responder Week To Be Held

Huddle House in Livingston is hosting “First Responder Week” from Tuesday, July 31 through Saturday, August 4, where the restaurant will be serving its Big House Breakfast Platters for free to local law enforcement officers, firefighters and EMTs throughout the week to show appreciation and support to local first responders who selflessly serve the Livingston community.

L.A. Band Fund Raiser To Be Held

Livingston Academy Band will be hosting their first annual Mattress Fundraiser on August 4, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The L.A. gym will transform into a 20 plus bed showroom filled with all sizes and styles with name available for up to 50 percent-off retail prices. Watch for area yard signs and for the few lucky kids who get to wear the “mattress suit” while promoting the sale to passersby.

Quarterback Club Meeting To Be Held

A Quarterback Club meeting is to be held at the L.A. Football Field House on Thursday, July 26 at at 5:30 p.m. Items to be discussed are jersey orders for parents, t-shirt sales, UCEMC Cares grant, Media Guide and Field Signs, meals for players, fund raisers to replace the Single A concession stand, the financial report, etc.

L.B.J.&C. Head Start Monthly Meeting To Be Held

The monthly meeting of the L.B.J. & C. Head Start Policy Council has been scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 7 beginning at 6 p.m. The meeting will be held at the L.B.J. & C. Development Corporation, 1150 Chocolate Drive, Cookeville, Tennessee.

Genealogy Assistance Program To Be Held

A Genealogy Assistance Program is to be held at the Millard Oakley Public Library on Thursday, July 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
