Man Facing Murder Charges Takes Deal

After five years and numerous trial postponements, a Monroe man will spend 20 years behind bars for his role in the death of a Jackson County victim.

In April of 2013, Michael Wayne Huffer, 33 from Monroe, was arrested for allegedly beating a Jackson County man to death. Huffer was charged with criminal homicide for the role he played in the death of Ronnie Lambert, 51 of Morrison Creek Road in Gainesboro.
