Livingston Mayor Curtis Hayes has clarified payments he received from the Upper Cumberland Human Resource Agency (UCHRA) for attending meetings, and he and the board have taken steps to avoid confusion in the future.
The Livingston Enterprise reached out to Mayor Curtis Hayes following a reported $700 check submitted to UCHRA from Hayes. The following is his statement:
“I serve on the UCHRA Board to help promote services to citizens of Livingston. For as long as have been on the Board, the bylaws have always said that Board members receive a “per diem,” and they have paid me $18.80. This was not “mileage” – the bylaws specifically say the words “per diem.”
