Lane Closures To Halt

The Tennessee Department of Transportation suspend all construction-related lane closures on interstates and state routes at noon on Friday, June 29 through 6 a.m. and on Thursday, July 5 to provide roadway capacity for holiday travelers.

The Smithville Fiddlers’ Jamboree Live Coverage To Be Held

WCTE Upper Cumberland PBS will air live coverage of the 47th Annual Smithville Fiddlers’ Jamboree on July 6 beginning at 7 p.m. on WCTE’s main channel, and again on Saturday, July 7 beginning at 5 p.m. on both WCTE’s main channel as well as the Tennessee Channel. Live coverage can also be accessed at wcte.org at these times.

American Legion To Hold Re-Opening Celebration

American Legion and Auxiliary Post 4 will celebrate a re-opening in the newly air-conditioned building and will hold a dance featuring the Slick Nickel Band on July 7 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on 121 S. Church Street. Family friendly. Concessions available.

The Central Park In The Dark summer movie series is to have a free showing of “The Nut Job 2: Nutty By Nature” at Central Park on July 13 around dark. Bring a blanket and a lawn chair and watch a great movie.

Shake The Lake To Be Held

Shake the Lake at the Willow Grove Resort is to be held on July 4 at 11045 Willow Grove Hwy in Allons beginning around dark/dusk. Experience one of the greatest fireworks shows on Dale Hollow Lake. Watch by land or water.

Fireworks Over Livingston To Be Held

Fireworks Over Livingston is to be held at First Baptist Church located at 708 East Main Street on July 4 around dusk/dark. Experience a wonderful fireworks show while enjoying some great food and music.

Live Music To Be Held

Live music is to be held every Saturday night from Memorial Day through Labor Day at the Willow Grove Resort located at 11045 Willow Grove Hwy in Allons. Come listen to some great music on the dock. For more information, call (931) 823-6616.

FSA Accepting Nominations

The Overton/Pickett FSA County Committee are accepting nomination petitions now through August 1, which is the last day for eligible voters to nominate themselves or local producers to serve on the FSA County Committee. Overton County local administrative area 3 is open for nominations. Forms can be picked up from local FSA offices, USDA Service Centers or online at www.fsa.usda.gov/elections

Beaty Reunion To Be Held
