Decoration To Be Held

Decoration in the Oakley Cemetery is to be held July 1 starting at 10 a.m. Brother Jerry Harris is in charge of the services. There will be singing and preaching.

Keisling Family Reunion To Be Held

The annual Keisling reunion will be held on Saturday, July 28, at the First Christian Church in Livingston.  A covered dish luncheon will begin at noon, followed by a program and an auction. All Keisling family members are invited to attend.

American Legion Post 4 Meeting To Be Held

The Livingston American Legion and Auxiliary will meet on Tuesday, July 3 at post headquarters located at 121 S. Church St. The Auxiliary will meet at 5:30pm and the Legion will meet at 6 p.m.

Hunter Family Reunion To Be Held

The Hunter Family Reunion is to be held at the Tea Room at Standing Stone State Park on Sunday, July 1. Doors open at 11 a.m. Lunch is around noon. For more information, call John Hunter at (615) 497-2585.

Board Of Education Meeting To Be Held

The Overton County Board of Education will meet in regular session Monday, July 2 at the Central Office as directed by Chairman Mike Gilpatrick. The work session will begin at 7 p.m. and the Board meeting immediately following.

Convenience Center To Be Closed

All Convenience Recycling Centers are to be closed on July 4. For info, call the Solid Waste Department at 823-8665.

Central Park In The Dark

The Central Park In The Dark summer movie series is to have a free showing of “The Nut Job 2: Nutty By Nature” at Central Park on July 13 around dark. Bring a blanket and a lawn chair and watch a great movie.

Fitness For Faith Program To Be Held

A Fitness For Faith porgram is to be held on July 14 at Central Park from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Proceeds to benefit the Cookeville Faith RX’D a program that unites faith and fitness. For more information, visit www.crossfitoverton.com

Rolley Holes Marble Championship To Be Held

Standing Stone State Park will host the National Rolley Hole Marbles Championship and Festival on Sept. 15 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. In addition to the final championship, the festival will offer several separate marble tournaments.
