Senior Community Service Employment Program
UCHRA invites anyone 55 years or older who meets the eligibility guidelines to be a part of a Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP). This program provides on-the-job training for older individuals seeking gainful employment in the Upper Cumberland region. Permits For Peregrine Falcon Draw To Be Held
The 2018 application period for the trapping of Peregrine falcons to be used in falconry begins in July and will end on Aug. 15. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency will conduct a draw to be held on Aug. 29 with five permits to be awarded. National Safe Boating Week To Be Held
The 2018 National Safe Boating Week is May 19 though 25 and the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency will be participating to promote the wear of life jackets as the summer boating season starts in full force. On May 19, Ready, Set, Wear It!, bring awareness on the importance of life jacket wear by holding a world record day. Participants will be part of the attempt to break a world record for the most life jackets worn at one time.
SHIP “Welcome To Medicare” Class To Be Held
The State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) is conducting a free “Welcome to Medicare” class at the Oakley Library in Livingston on Monday, May 21 from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

All Overton County Recycling Centers are to be closed in observance of Memorial Day on May 28.
Livingston Garbage Routes To Be Closed Memorial Day.
Garbage routes for the Town of Livingston will temporarily change in order for the City to observe Memorial Day. Trash will not be picked up Monday, May 28. Monday’s route will be picked up on Tuesday, May 29.
American Legion Dances Postponed Until After June
American Legion Post 4 will not hold any community dances during the month of June due to the installation of air-conditioning.

The American Legion Post 4 will be holding a program on Monday, May 28 at 10 a.m. on the downtown plaza to voluntarily and informally observe in their own way a Moment of Remembrance for those who have died in service.
