American Legion Post 4 Poppy Distribution To Be Held
On May 19 at numerous locations, members of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit Post 4 will be distributing bright red poppies in exchange for donation to honor fallen warriors and continue needs for our veterans.
Chamber of Commerce Accepting Beautification Nominations
Envision Livingston’s Beautification Award Nomination box is now at the Livingston-Overton County Chamber of Commerce. Forms are adjacent to the submission box. Submissions for the second quarter winner will be accepted through Friday, June 8, 2018. The winner will be announced at the end of June.
TWRA Announces Squirrel Season To Be Opened In May
Tennessee’s 2018 spring hunting season for gray, fox and red squirrels opens May 12 and will continue through June 10. The daily bag limit is 10, the same for the fall/winter squirrel season, which is held from late August to the end of February.
Fishing Events Underway
Tennessee will host its 2018 Free Fishing Day on Saturday, June 9. The day allows anyone the opportunity to try this great outdoor sport, especially children to celebrate fishing as a wholesome and healthy recreational option. Numerous events are schedule for Free Fishing Day. In addition, children ages 15 and younger may fish without a license beginning on Free Fishing Day through the following Friday (June 15).
American Legion Hall Dance To Be Held
A community dance will be held on May 19 at 7 through 10 p.m at the American Legion Hall Post 4 Building located at 121 S. Church Street. Band featuring is 1 Eyd Dawg Band with concessions available.
SHIP/SMP Training To Be Held

Voting For Livingston Election To Be Held
Early voting for the Livingston Election will be held May 17 through June 1 at Overton County Election Commission at the new location at 312 West Broad Street. The Election Commission will be closed in observance of Memorial Day on May 28. Election Day will be held on June 6 at the Chamber of Commerce located 222 E. Main Street.
Fish and Chicken Supper To Be Held
