Action Is Taken On 911 Board

Fresh off a vote of confidence for Overton-Pickett 911 Director Chris Masiongale by the 911 board, Overton County Executive Ben Danner made good on comments he made after the state comptroller’s report on 911 was released detailing the questionable use of funds – he replaced part of the board.

That action came at last night’s Overton County Commission meeting. Danner had said after the 911 report that he might replace the board depending upon how they react after the report was issued. When the 911 board met last Monday in a called meeting, all of the board members gave Masiongale a vote of confidence, with the exception of one board member from Pickett County. During last night’s commission meeting, commissioners approved replacing five of the existing board members whose terms have expired, including the board chairman.
