Schools Consider Asking For More Money

The Overton County Board of Education is still facing a $417,750 deficit in the budget. The Board is still considering options and discussed them at last week’s work session.

The BOE was facing a $464,000 deficit during their last meeting. Dr. Winningham spoke to a consultant and the estimated nine percent insurance increase on this year’s budget can be adjusted to a six percent increase. This brought the deficit amount down to $417,750.
