Liza Jane Threet Cravens
Liza Jane Threet Cravens, 82 of the Crawford Community, passed away on March 30 at her residence. Funeral services were held on April 3 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. J.B. Harris officiating. Interment followed in the Cub Cemetery.
She was born on July 8, 1935 in Overton County. She was a homemaker and pieced together quilts.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Otis Lark and Susie Hargis Threet; husband, Willie Hessel Cravens; sons, Michael Cravens and Terry Wayne Cravens; brothers, Bailey Issac, Johnathan, Ike and Irvin Threet; and sisters, Minda, Halie, Elan, Hazel and Louvenie.
Surviving relatives include her sons, James Cravens of Crossville, Arnold Threet and wife Teresa of Cookeville, Teddy Joe Cravens of Crawford; step-son, Ernie Cravens and wife Sandra of West Union, OH; daughters, Cathy Cravens of Cookeville and Carmel Maynord and husband Charles of Livingston; grandchildren, Mary Faye, Katie, Audrey, Sarah Jane, Haley Jane, Andrew, Silas and Gabe.
Jerry C. Hammock
Jerry C. Hammock, 69 of the Copeland Cove Community passed away on March 31 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Graveside services were held on April 1 at the Carr Cemetery in the Copeland Cove Community. Speck Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He was born on March 18, 1949 in Overton County. He enjoyed being at home with his dogs and raising chickens.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence “Rooster” Hammock.
Surviving relatives include his sons, Shawn Hammock and April of Rickman and Jeremy Hammock and Loretta of Cookeville; daughter, Lauren Caruthers and husband Jay of White County; mother, Lois Hammock of Rickman; 10 grandchildren; and sister, Patsy Cumby and husband Jimmy of Rickman.
