Police Arrest Teen Over School Scare

A 16-year-old Livingston Academy student was arrested after he made “disturbing remarks” during school hours, according to police.

According to Livingston Police Chief Greg Etheredge, police began investigating a 16-year-old male on Feb. 12. Chief Etheredge said that the student’s comments were “centered around school shootings.” After police conducted some interviews with students, staff and the suspect, School Resource Officer Jeremy Laycock filed charges in Overton County Juvenile Court against the suspect.
