Reba Imogene Vance Poston, 90, of Livingston, passed away on Nov. 7 from the NHC Healthcare in Cookeville. Funeral services were held on Nov. 11 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Okolona Cemetery.
She was born on March 24, 1927 in Overton County. She attended Rocky Mound School. She originally worked as a seamstress but later on was a housewife. She was a member of the Livingston Assembly of God.
She is preceded in death by parents, Bryan and Stella Maxwell Vance; husband, “D.T.” Thomas Poston Sr.; grandson, Danny Poston; great granddaughter, Marlee Marie Poston; sister, Mary Ruth Vance Young; and brothers, Fowler, Lewis Harold and Keith Vance.
She is survived by daughter, Martha Poston Ashley and husband Greg of Lenoir City; sons, David Poston and wife Julie of Illinois, Mark Poston and wife Anna of Livingston and Joel Poston and wife Suella of Livingston; 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren also survive.
Barbara L. Barlow
Barbara Ledbetter Barlow, 68, of Livingston, passed away on Nov. 7 at her home. Funeral services were held on Nov. 9 from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home. Bro. Marty Carr officiated. Interment followed in the Aarons Chapel Cemetery.
She was born on Sept. 16, 1949 in Overton County. She graduated Livingston Academy in the class of 1967. She was Baptist in faith and loved her family with all her heart, especially her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by parents, Lester Lee and Iris Imogene Greenwood Ledbetter.
She is survived by husband, Sheldon Barlow of Livingston; son, Roger Barlow and wife Mary Beth of Manchester; daughter, Crystal Conner and husband Matt of Monroe; brothers, Mark Ledbetter and wife Vickie of Hilham and Leon Ledbetter and wife Patty of Cookeville; sisters, Janet Geesling and husband Roy of Hilham, Janie Johnson of Hilham, Rita Ledbetter and husband Bruce of Alpine and Regina Beaty and husband Jason of Monterey; grandchildren, Ethan Ray Conner, Allyson Rose Conner, Levi Matthew Conner, Jacob Lewis Barlow and William Issac Barlow; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Jason Beaty, Billy Ledbetter, Brian Lindsay, Matt Geesling, Roy Joe Geesling and Steven Barlow. Honorary pallbearers were Troy Pennington, Bruce Ledbetter and Chris Ledbetter.
Bobbie Jean Maynord
Bobbie Jean White Maynord, 83, of Monroe, passed away on Nov. 12 at Skyline Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Nov. 18 from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home. Bro. Darrek Copeland will officiate. Interment will follow in the Overton County Memorial Gardens.
She was born in Monroe on July 3, 1934. She was Baptist in Faith and worked for many years as a seamstress for the local garment industry in Livingston. She loved NASCAR and was fundamental in starting the shirt factory reunions, where she loved to catch up with all of her friends.
She is preceded in death by parents, Albert and Ida Smith White; husband, Barnie Maynord; son, Terry White; sisters, Linnie White Allred, Tissie Mae White Brown, Udean White Hoover, Ella V. White Smith and Nettie Jane White Johnson; brothers, Orbit, Corbit, Willard, Willie D., J. D. and Dick White.
She is survived by daughter-in-law, Evelyn White Chilton and husband Bryan of Livingston, TN.; nieces, Susan Asberry and husband Jake and Beth Payne and husband Tim; nephews, Rick Hoover and wife Kim, Mike Hoover and wife Jennifer and John Allred; and several other nieces and nephews also survive.
Pallbearers to serve are Rick Hoover, Danny Hoover, Bryan Chilton, Jake Asberry, Thomas Ledford and Mike Hoover. Honorary Pallbearers are John Allred and Jerry White.
