Livingston Academy’s own Lesley Riddle was this year’s recipient of the A.F. Bridges Female Coach of the Year award. Riddle is the Girl’s basketball coach and the assistant principal at Livingston Academy.
Playing a sport isn’t always about winning and Riddle makes that known. When asked about her position as a coach, Riddle said, “So much emphasis now is put on winning and losing. And I think, a little bit, that’s a mistake, especially at the high school level. I mean, we aren’t professional athletes and the majority of high school athletes aren’t going to be college athletes. So I think it’s more important we are teaching those [life] lessons and teaching them how to represent something that is bigger than them.”
