Wilma L. Evans

Wilma L. Evans, 84, of Livingston, passed away on Oct. 23 at her residence. Funeral services were held on Oct. 25 from the chapel of the Speck Funeral Home. Bro. Scott Allred officiated. Interment followed in the Evans Family Cemetery.

She was born in Putnam County on April 11, 1933. She was a cook at Cookeville Regional Medical Center for many years. She loved her family and working out in her yard keeping everything orderly. She also enjoyed making wonderful works of art with sewing and quilting.

She is preceded in death by parents, Ola and Elizabeth Watts Fields; husband, William “Buster” Evans; and sister, Patricia Fields.

She is survived by daughters, Diane Crites and husband Don of Oklahoma and Judy Evans and companion Mac Carnahan of Lafayette; sons, William Evans and wife Phyllis of Cookeville and Mark Evans of Crossville; grandchildren, Joann Lawhorn and husband Chip, Joshua  Crites, April Heatherly, Elizabeth Evans, Dr. Amber Evans Fulton and husband Stephen and Kirk Evans and wife Beth; nine great grandchildren; brother, Bernard Fields and wife Lou of Rickman; and sisters, Melva Lewis, Sylvia Jared and husband Jerry and Kay Anderson all of Cookeville.

John David Robbins

John David Robbins, 58, of Livingston, passed away on Oct. 26 at his home. Funeral services were held on Oct. 29 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Bro. Jerry Harris, Bro. Jimmy Dixon and Bro. Rick Lacy officiated. Interment followed in the Robbins View Stables Cemetery.

He was born on Oct. 16, 1958 in Jackson County. David was a 1977 graduate of Livingston Academy and worked as the Plant Manager for Hutchinson for many years.  David served as President of the Overton County Fair Board for over 25 years and was dedicated in making the Overton County Fair a success.  He loved his family, training Walking Horses and judging them.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Betty Tayes Robbins.

He is survived by wife, Cindy Hogue Robbins of Livingston; son, John Ross Robbins and Stephanie Sherfield of Murfreesboro; father, John Robbins of Livingston; sister, Cathy Stacey of Rickman; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Timmy Martin, Tony Bilbrey, Ronnie Smith and Mike Rittenberry. Honorary Pallbearers were the fair board members and Drew Huffines.

Rubie M. Deck

Rubie M. Deck, 93, of Livingston, passed away on Oct. 26 at the Overton County Health and Rehab. Funeral services were held on Oct. 28 from the chapel of Hall Funeral Home. Bro. Jeff Short officiated. Interment followed in Green Hills Cemetery.

She was born in Alpine on May 9, 1924. She loved her family and friends very much. She loved her Lord and Savior and being able to attend church.

She is preceded in death by parents, Sid and Bonzie Reynolds Cantrell; husband, Cooper Deck; daughter, Carolyn Copeland; son, J.C. “Bud” Deck; and sisters, Nova Smith and Lillian Cantrell.

She is survived by son, Roger Deck of Hilham; daughters, Wanda Savage of Rickman, Rebel Hammock of Monroe and Judy Carter of Livingston; brother, James Cantrell of Livingston; sister, Delzie Smith of Livingston; 14 grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends also survive.

Pallbearers were Brad Deck, Scott Deck, Brian Deck, Travis Copeland, Randy Savage, Matthew Savage and Harrison Carmack.
