Hoy C. Worley

Hoy C. Worley, 68, of Monroe passed away April 29. Funeral services were held from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home with Bro. Denny Bullock and Bro. Winningham Van Koughnett officiating. Burial followed in Red Hill Cemetery.

He was born September 12, 1948 in Overton County. He enjoyed being around and talking with people. He enjoyed watching Football and all sports.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Bertha Worley.

Surviving relatives include several cousins, nieces and nephews.

 

Robert Gene Taylor

Robert Gene Taylor, 80, of the Taylors Crossroad Community passed away May 3 at the Livingston Regional Hospital. Graveside services were held May 4 at the Old Miller Cemetery with Bro. Johnny Jenkins officiating.

He was born December 30, 1936 in Pickett County. He enjoyed chewing Red Man, fishing, woodwork and being outside on his farm tending to his cattle. He loved the outdoors. He loved riding his tractor, planting his row crops for the year or tending his garden. He loved reading and watching westerns.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Wesley and Stella Taylor; son, Robert Taylor; brother, Kenneth Taylor; sister, Faye McDaniel.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Irene Taylor; daughter, Janet Ramsey and husband Joe; grandchildren, Jonathan Ramsey, Jadyn Ramsey, Joshua Ramsey and two nephews and nieces.

Durrell Crabtree

Foreman

Durrell Crabtree, age 74, of Springfield, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2017 at North Crest Medical Center. A private graveside service was held in the Springfield Memorial Gardens with Brother Jim Barlow officiating and family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation was held at the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield on Friday, May 5, 2017 from 4-8 p.m. and again on Saturday, May 6, 2017 from 12 p.m. until 2:30 p.m.

Mr Crabtree was born January 24, 1943 in Livingston, TN to the late James and Stella Thomas Crabtree. He worked as a foreman at Atwood, was of the Baptist faith and loved turkey shoots.

In addition to his parents Mr. Crabtree is preceded in death by his brothers, Willie Crabtree, Hezzie Crabtree and Kelsie Crabtree; and by his sisters, Laura Maynard, Olene Ledbetter and Dorothy Ledbetter.

Mr. Crabtree is survived by his wife, Peggy Brown Crabtree; daughter, Tammy (Jim) Barlow of Cottontown; brother, Don Crabtree of Rickman, TN; sister, Joyce Neal of Livingston, TN; grandchildren, Paige Barlow, Payton Barlow and Phebe Barlow; and many nieces and nephews.

Austin & Belle Funeral Home in Springfield is in charge of these arrangements.

 

Jimmie L. Speck

Soldier

JIMMIE L. SPECK, age 72, of Germantown, OH, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at Sycamore Hospital.

He was born in Livingston, TN, on August 13, 1944, to Jessie R. (Tudor) and the late John D. Speck. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Jimmie was a member of the Dayton Masonic Lodge ~ F. & A.M., the Antioch Shrine, and the former Riverview Baptist Church in Miamisburg. He retired from General Motor in 2004 with more than 30 years of service. Jimmie was a loving and caring son, husband, father, grandfather ~ and the light of our life. Next to his devotion of family, he enjoyed his golf buddies.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of almost 48 years, Barbara S. (Hughes) Speck; his son, Jamie (Kristi) Speck; his daughter Melody (fiancé, Tim Maples) Robbins; his grandchildren, Ava & Jack Speck, Hunter Robbins and Drew Maples; his father-in-law, Willie (Emogene) Hughes; his brother-in-law, Jack (Pat) Hughes; his brother-in-law, Bill (and the late, Anne) Windle. The family received friends 10 a.m. – 12 noon, Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the Dalton Funeral Home, Corner of State Route 4 & Weaver Rd., Germantown. The Funeral Service was private for the family, with burial following at Germantown Union Cemetery. If desired memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Barbara Collins Maynord

Barbara Collins Maynord, 74, of Allons passed away May 5 at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky. Funeral services were held May 8 from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home with Bro. Eric Dillion, Bro. Randy Maynard and Bro. Damon Corley officiating. Burial was at Hunter Cove Cemetery.

She was born on April 19, 1943. She was a member of the Allons Baptist Church where she played piano for 55 years. She loved both her family and her church family. She loved to play the piano, gospel singing and her flowers. She also enjoyed reading, embroidery and doing yard work.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmo and Elsie Ferrell Collins and her husband, Chester Durrell Maynord.

Surviving relatives include son Doug Maynord; very special friend, Amy Martin; daughter, Melanie Williams and husband Mitch; grandchildren, Walker Williams, Dustin Williams and Houston McMeans.
